State of the pots right now is as follows: (assumes that leagues finish as they are now, cups are won by the favourites, and seeded sides win their qualifiers)

Pot 1:

Real Madrid
Atletico Madrid
Barcelona
Bayern Munich
Manchester City
Juventus
Paris Saint-Germain
Lokomotiv Moscow

Pot 2:

Borussia Dortmund
Porto
Manchester United
Shakhtar Donetsk
Benfica*
Napoli
FC Basel*
Tottenham Hotspur

Pot 3:

Roma
Liverpool
Schalke
Lyon
Monaco
Red Bull Salzburg*
Spartak Moscow
Lazio

Pot 4:

Ludogorets Razgrad*
PSV*
Valencia
Viktoria Plzen
Celtic*
Club Brugge
Galatasaray
Hoffenheim

Sides with an * are those entering in the qualifying rounds, and therefore the most likely to miss out. Also there's a good chance that Lyon (currently 3rd in France) will be kicked out, having been charged over crowd trouble with a suspended ban already in place. If so the 4th placed team (currently Marseille) will take their spot, and they would be in Pot 4.

Not a lot of difference between 2 and 3 anyway, will ultimately come down to luck of the draw for the group.

Honestly there’s not that much difference between quality of teams in 2 and 3 . Infact 3 looks tougher. With Monaco Schalke Roma.

Yeah, much smaller gap than some years. Main difference is that we'd have a 2/7 chance of a substantially weaker team out of 3 in Salzburg or Spartak. Meanwhile there's an obvious two to avoid from Pot 4 in Valencia or Hoffenheim. But as we've seen in the last couple of years it will inevitably be very competitive even if we get an "easier" draw and it will mostly come down to how well we perform rather than the opposition, barring a group of death with teams that happen to also be on form.

Yeah. Knowing us we will get a group of
Barcelona
Tottenham Hotspur
Roma
Galatasaray

even if we did end up getting into Pot 2.

Porto will be in Pot 1 as one of 7 strongest leagues. Athletico in group 2 which makes it even stronger Europa Lge winners go into the league but not pot 1

I think you may have Pot 1 wrong, I believe Europa league winners do qualify for the group stages but do not go in Pot 1 , as far as I am aware Pot 1 consists of the champions of the top seven leagues , i.e Spain, Italy, Germany, England , France , Portugal & Russia plus Champions league winners. If Liverpool win the CL they will go in pot one and Madrid will be in pot two, your pot one should show Porto in place of Atletico.

Edit: They have changed it from last season so your pots are correct, all the more reason to treat the Europa League with more respect.

Definitely want a glamour club. And then I guess 2 weaker is the ideal. Hate to have group Liverpool had then go out in last 16. May as well just be in Europa.

13.06 For the purpose of the draw, the 32 clubs involved in the group stage are seeded into four groups of eight. The first group comprises the titleholder (top seed), the UEFA Europa League titleholder and the domestic champions of the six associations ranked highest in the access list (see Annex A). If either or both titleholders are the domestic champions of one of the top six associations, the group is completed with the champion(s) of the next highest ranked association(s). The other three groups are composed in accordance with the club coefficient rankings established at the beginning of the season (see Annex D).
