Here is a map I made

It includes general information helpful to travel, night buses, Irish pubs, public showers, fan zones and all that. Hope it's useful for somebody.

Thanks, that's really helpful. I assume there's no reason to head towards the stadium if you're not going in, as there doesn't appear to be any way to watch the game outside of the stadium?

There are bars around canellajas so you could go to one of those. But the stadium itself is very much in the middle of nowhere.

For those who are travelling by Zeelo (coach), have you found anywhere to shower/freshen up? I was thinking a local swimming pool or gym but proving difficult. Any guidance hugely appreciated.

If anyone has a hotel/airbnb, we (4 of us) will happily pay to use your facilities if in Central Madrid?
most of the services have washing/shower facilities, I'm sure the coach will stop prior to arrival in Madrid at one of these services

Great thanks Any ideas for safe parking a VW van Saturday night will be kipping in it ?? Madrid Calling
I don't drive so I can't really say. I've seen a lot of camper vans parked near lago. But I've got a feeling that has more to do with it being a nice park with a lake than for safety reasons. Madrid is super safe and I doubt anything bad will happen wherever you park (maybe avoid the south of Madrid, not that I believe it to be particularly dangerous, but just to be on the safe side).

Guys. I have ended up in a situation with double booked accom in Madrid. Friday to Sun. 4* hotel in the centre of town. Happy to consider any reasonable offer (well below what I paid for it - something silly) and can provide all the confirmation info required. Send me a message if interested

Thanks

We’ll probably have a look at the UEFA zones Friday and sat morning, and head over to Colon earlyish for the game, then. If it’s too busy or too quiet, will have time to change plan.

That area just below Alonso Martinez station is nice. A few bars and an open plan square pedestrianised area.... if James Joyce is red, might be a decent alternative.

Google that place first mate. Looks like a laundrette from the street view

I do think that too haha

We will ofcourse check it out beforehand - definitely. I think them not opening up the fan zone for the game will come back to bite Madrid - just nonsensical. Not sure how they think 50-60k fans will find enough bars and not only that but mix of fans in bars is not the best idea
