Champions League: Premier League should do more to help - Rose

Tottenham defender Danny Rose wants the Premier League to do more to help English teams in the Champions League.

Spurs play West Ham on Saturday before hosting Ajax on Tuesday in the Champions League semi-finals.

We’d still have to fit West Ham (and Bournemouth) in at some point.

The Eredivisie (like most other Euro leagues) only consists of 18 teams and don’t have 2 cup competitions, so they have this luxury.

As a nation we won’t help the top teams do well in Europe without sacrificing something from the calendar, to the detriment of the lower teams. Difficult one.

He should have Googled the reason why the Dutch FA aren't playing any league matches this weekeed.

Can't disagree really. The Dutch league rescheduled fixtures to help Ajax so not sure why the PL can't do the same for us.

Premier League considers itself a superior league to Champions League so apart from maybe moving a Sunday/Monday game to Saturday they will do nothing to help teams in CL as that would be acknowledging that the CL is more important.
