Cheikh Gueye

I saw that the other post on this guy was closed, so I started a new thread about him, because this is a player that deserves some attention. He is a great talent, and you will hear about him in the future. He is avalible at a good price now, and we should act.

At current time, we have a great right back in Pascal Chimbonda, and we have Stalteri as backup, and also Phil Ifill in the long term picture. (Lee can also play here)

Despite this, I want us to think long term, and get another right back on board.

My first choice right back was Sagna of Auxerre, but he signed for our rivals Arsenal.

I have also been following another right back for a while, and his name is Cheikh Gueye of FC Metz. They are currently rock bottom in Ligue 1, and they are a newly promoted side. Despite this, I am in no doubt over Gueye's talents, and I guarantee that this is a real bargain buy.

I would set him as my first priority choice at right back for the future, and I really believe he holds a very good Premier League standard.

What a player this is, and what a bargain!

Actually i'll apologise right now as i didn't mean any disrespect to you Spursking and my post above was in jest of the players name,
I know you have a tendancy to point out young black footballers from france and Africa,
Fair play to you,
You probably only want the best for spurs as we all do but i think a few people are disrespectful towards you and your posts and it seem to be a bit of a joke and a 'lets take the piss as he won't respond' kind of thing,
I would love to see you bite just once and tell a few people to fuck off,
I've seen it across this board and a few posters seem to think they can jump on the SK pisstaking bandwagon,

Maybe he should, but we all know he wont reply to questions and will stick to just baiting people and then ignoring their questions. Look at the way his first post on this subject was treated. He didnt answer any of the questions which he obviously saw as he noticed the thread was locked and instead chose to create a new thread.

He does well to not respond to all the piss takes (which he does deserve, but thats just my opinion) but this is probably only because he seems to stick his head in the sand and ignore EVERY type of response to his posts. If he justs wants to post information then maybe he should look to another way of doing so. This is a forum where we come to discuss things. You cant open a subject up for discussion and then refuse to answer other members questions and queries. This is the main problem many people have with SK and whilst the way he is treated might look bad at first glance and newer members should not be as you say jumping on the bandwagon, there are many people who are fed up with his shit. He has no credibility, no factual accuracy and is mostly tolerated for his comedy value. Just compare threads started by him to threads started by the likes of Joey55 and SS57. Whilst I dont always agree with their opinions at least they will reply to questions and back up their opinions with facts and intelligent arguments. If SK decides to do this i'm sure you will see an end to the piss takes.

I have been following Gueye's progress from Ligue 2 aswell as this season in Ligue 1. I know that Metz are rock bottom, but I also know that they have some talented youngsters in their team. One of them is Cheikh Gueye. I do never care about a team's league position when I am considering a player's talents. That has to do with the team as a unit. Relegated teams very often have some really good players in their teams. I believe he would fit into the Premier League straight away. I am talking about a long term addition now. We have Chimbonda now, and need a long term back up.

I would have been impressed, but that was clearly an overhit through ball.

It is interesting he was playing on the left rather than the right. My guess would be that he is probably a lot better going forward than he is defensively as well.

SK, would you say he was an upgrade on Chimbs, or just a chepa alternative. I have no problem if this guy is great, but if he is just good value for money then I wouldn't be too interested at this stage. We need improvements to our tema not just good value additions to our squad.
