I see it as a good thing, it means we're going in the right direction and the players are at the top of the game. It's like when the was talk about Mourinho wanting Jenas at Inter Milan, Jenas was on top form at time.
There is that way of looking at it of course. Good point.

If only a club was trying to pry away Conehead, eh Mullers. :D

Who was the last person we sold to Chelski?
Only interaction I can remember in recent times was Cudicini - but I am old and have withering brain cells.
Falco, Hazard, Hoddle.....but recently?
I doubt we'd sell anyone to a London team - which brings up the other question - Bar The Ridiculous Sol Campbell - have we sold anyone to Chelski or The Ar$e in the Premiership years?
Man Utd - yup
Real Madrid - yup.
But other than that......enlighten me fellow SC members...

I have been on Dembele's case in the recent past but I wouldn't sell in the form he's in at the moment, even if this story was true. I don't think we could get a replacement in January because clubs don't want to sell their best players at that time.

However if they wanted to make a bid of 20 million+ in the summer, we should definitely consider doing a deal, chiefly because Dembele will be 29 year next year. I don't think we can afford to turn down that kind of money for a 29 year old outfield player, now that we have a proper scouting set up, I'm more confident of us getting a good replacement.

29 years old is still young dude. He still has at least 6 years in him and that is worth keeping. Zidane moved to RM for a world record fee at 29yrs. Not saying Dembele is as good as zidane was, but hes good enough to be seen at 29years old as a loss if he were to be sold at 20mil.

Steady on, 6 years? Not too many Pirlos out there mate. Id say possibly 4 at this level. In a pressing team less but would keep him till retirement or he expresses he wants to go as long as he shows value to our play. No way to get respect as a club to try to shift people just because their value might start dropping.

Just another Mirror story to fill the paper. I don't feel there is any truth in this speculation. Maybe Leicester could be tempted to sell with a large offer but I cannot see any Spurs players going to Chelsea or visa versa in the recent future or beyond......same with Arsenal or Spam.

Does Jose Mourinho know who Daniel Levy is?

Totally agree - I posted this some time ago on another thread.

What amazing amazing work from Dan Levy -http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/new-scheme/

From the dark days of the 90s where a fancy dribble or clever pass would be what we would consider highlights of a game in a dingy stadium that we, an ageing mismanaged team, more often than not lost - to these days. A world class training facility with a top youth team and a world class stadium all cleverly financed and integrated with local community development and initiatives. A coach fully tuned into the clubs objectives - particularly youth development. A team that has consistently finished 6 and above. A salute of gratitude and respect Mr. Levy from a fan who has seen the dark days.

A great interview - http://www.tottenhamhotspur.com/spurs-tv/features/daniel-levy-on-new-stadium-scheme/

6 years!!! He's been good for a period this season but inconsistent for the past two years. How can you be sure that he will stay consistent?

Thank you @rupsmith

Many do not know or understand the transformation that has transpired over the years. I believe the best is yet to come.

Yeah cos Moussa really wants to go back to playing the way he had been. He so obviously doesn't believe in the spurs project enough to stay, he is only sweating bullets for us.

I think we'll have a real crack at the title next season and I think all the players will stay to do it. Might even happen this year but I think we'll do one more too, our last at the lane.

Then the cynic in me says that the team will break up after that, either poch will be stolen or some players will be offered mega money and eventually take it.

That's life, and while it might end someday ill really enjoy the poch-train while it lasts.

"But he is likely to keep his powder dry with Chelsea and Stoke City both holding a keen interest in him."

The only player that can go in Jan is Fazio. I'd keep everyone together till the end of the season. If we get Champions League, I'm sure we could buy a replacement as good, if not better than Dembele. But there's no point talking about it till the last game is played.

The thing about that is, we do not know how good Dembele actually is. I get the feeling he has more to offer than what we've been seeing.
