Sadly these stories will keep coming if we have players good enough for the champions league but we fail to qualify. I'm fairly sure he won't move if we get in next season and I think probably Bale wouldn't have gone either. Modric and Berbatov seemed more eager for a move. We're in a good position to make the top four but until it happens some hack will write stories like this. A win on Sunday would make a move look less attractive but it'll be all about where we finish.

are you suggesting that this non-story has been designed to generate traffic through its online media channel????

I can't believe you'd think such a well regarded Newspaper would stoop so low!!! :D

Guys, I think you are being a bit naïve. Just look how the careers of young, talented English players have taken off after moving to Chelsea. The way they nurture and bring through talent, ensuring players get match time and the opportunity to really live up to their potential is a model any young player would dream of being involved in. It's not like they just sign everyone they can with a bit about them, and then if they are not an instant success, leave them wallowing on the bench or back in Surrey until, after their career slumps through inaction, they are sold to a third rate club at a knock down price where they have to start from scratch or simply are never to be seen again.

I mean just look at:
- Shaun Wright Phillips
- Steve Sidwell
- Daniel Sturridge
- Scott Parker
- Victor Moses
- the 33 loanees they currently have out who will never, ever see the first team
