We don't have to score people! We lead 1-0. Chelsea are toothless up front, if they don't play Giroud up top they won't have a target man to use. Higuan didn't sign in enough time either. Our injuries are at the top end of the pitch, our defence is fully fit and with Gazza in goal behind I'm even more confident.

Having said that, I will take a goalless bore draw as that will see us through.
It'll be nice to get something on the counter as it will mean they have to score 3 to definitely progress and 2 just to go down to the lottery of penalties, which I would feel surprisingly confident about with Gaz in goal.

Struggling with our penalty takers though!

While agree with you, but my worse nightmare would be a Trippierisque cock up or an Auriesique challenge that would result in them having scored an early goal to level the tie.
Like Aurier did in the first leg? Like how we performed at Stamford Bridge last time out? Have some faith.

I thought Trippier had a great game first leg, our whole defence was solid but I was impressed with the fullbacks consistently getting their heads to the ball as they tried to sneak in at the back post. Aurier and Sissoko had a great game in the league against them also so I feel confident in either choice to get the job done.

It’s chucking it down snowing where I am (Essex) to the point where, if it did this all day, the game could get called off for safety reasons.

If it could continuously snow until mid March that would be great.

COME ON SNOW!!

I realise that this is the epitome of small time thinking, but I don't think it'd be the end of the world if we lost tonight. I worry that getting beat by City in the final (which is more likely than us winning), could do us some serious psychological damage, at a stage in the season where there's still so much left to play for.

GKN Hat-trick and a Llorente brace.

Yes i've gone mad.

A neck brace maybe.

The only sure thing is if it goes to penalties and we have Hugo in goal we will see a lot of him on one side of the goal and the ball in the other corner.
I hope Poch sticks with Gazza for this one.

Oh dear.

Can't agree with your rationale at all. Losing games might not be the end of the World, but psychological damage if we made it to a final and lost.

I'm hoping that the club are aspiring to win every game and would certainly see the losing of a semi-final a massive missed opportunity.

What we going to ever achieve if we accept defeat as avoidance of potential psychological damage.

I'm trying to think of penalty shoot-outs where Gazza has played??

When was that/ why the confidence?
