Sanchez has cleaned up with some timely interventions when there have been gaping holes in the middle.

Could've been a lot worse without him.

I don't get it, they get good chances with just 5 passes.
Us? we string 10 passes and still moving around the middle of the park. It's like Ronaldo's stepover, lots of movement but fucking useless.

Son hasn't been very involved in the center so far. Kane in for Dele (?) and put son out on the left - or maybe just switch Moura with Son. tricky

The issue defensively is that both FB’s are tucking in to centrally an Chelsea are knocking balls into acres of empty space.
That needs fixing.

In attack we are also a little narrow, trying to flick/pass our way through the M25 at rush hour.

Kane in would give us a central focus and allow the others to pull wider.

WOW Eriksen, WOW!

We haven't looked like scoring unless he was on the ball.

Despite that I'm not particularly happy with how we are playing. Gaps all over the place at the back. Poch needs to drill it into them "GAME MANAGEMENT". Don't take needless risks, don't leave space behind if the attack is weak.

Sonny up top isn't working, he needs to be playing the channels, not the centre. He can't get hold of it and you can see he's not quite sure where to go when he receives it in that position. He needs to be out wide and told to press Moses back and work the flank.

We got away with a few breakaways from them. Can't keep affording them this half.

Yeah absolutely we don't need to come out and take the game to them, they need to come out and win so game management is key

Alan Shearer "Chelsea want you to go down the middle, Chelsea want you to be narrow"

If he can see it......

We need to change the shape. Absolutely.

Why on Earth sub Lamela?hes been very good.
For the sake of the defence. We are not getting anything from this game if we continue with the same tactical shape.

Where would Lamela fit into a 3-5-2?

It's not that he's playing badly but that the team is playing badly.

Rose or Wanyama have to come on for Alli of Lamela. If we stay we a back four we're going to be in trouble.

Our FB need help, trying to cover the runs in from William and Hazard and the width from their FB.

But Lamela coming off, thought he’s been our most on it player

He was easily the best player in that half IMO, he's suprised me. I like him but think he can look a little too shaky at times but he's looked solid in that defence today, really encouraging.

Great strike, Christian! I just wish he'd gone into a pointless 40/60 challenge with Caballero and potentially injured himself.

Agree. We need to do a Dortmund/Real Madrid on them. Minimise space and counter fast.

Completely understand people being negative and that's cool but I don't and will never understand people saying "game over" and calling our players legends when they haven't even bottled anything
Fair enough.

Thank god fir Eriksen because we were dreadful first half. Son and a Lamela totally ineffectual, Dele not much better. The AMs and fullbacks have all been shocking and left our midfield exposed.

That wasn't a terrible half of football, just Chelsea being very cute, well drilled and playing to their strengths and our weaknesses. It was a very tight tussle with us pushing against a bus park team, but one with a very talented counter threat.

Unfortunately our forwards were at their bumbly worst for much of it, which is often what happens when they are forced to operate under the squeeze of a deep block, and our two CM's have been fucking awful, ponderous with the ball, careless at times, and like turtles in a fucking windsock when Chelsea have countered.

I'd really like to see Wanyama on for Dier, drop Eriksen properly into a 433 or even Wanyama on for Lamela, drop Dier into a CB3, and go 3421 and make the pitch a bit wider , whilst blocking off their WB's.

The goal was genuinely unlucky, the one controllable that could have been better was Davies getting out and closing him a bit quicker maybe. Don't blame Lloris for coming and don't think it would have helped if he didn't and don't think Sanchez could do any better.

Thank fuck for Eriksen.

We are lucky to still be in this let’s take advantage and step it up big time in the 2nd half.
To be fair we are due a barrel full of luck vs these lot gonna need plenty more 2nd half to end this hoodo I can’t stand all this build up of not beating them since 1990 next season again
