21:19 Chelsea sub - Mikel for Fabregas.
21:16 SUBSTITUTION Soldado for Lamela

21:15 GOAL Chelsea 3-0 Tottenham - Loic Remy
Strikers are worth their weight in gold aren't they? Another brilliant piece of forward play from Loic Remy wraps up the points for Chelsea. Remy turns inside Jan Vertonghen with one backheel and then passes the ball into the corner. Game over.

21:09 SUBSTITUTION Remy for Drogba
20:53 SUBSTITUTIONS Paulhinho and Chadli for Mason and Lennon
20:52 YELLOW CARD Matic for foul on Kane
20:51 YELLOW CARD Chiriches for foul on Hazard
SUBSTITUTION
Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham
A half-time change for Chelsea - but it's not Didier Drogba. Kurt Zouma replaces Gary Cahill at the back, a man who had that early head injury of course.
HALF TIME Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham
20:07 GOAL Chelsea 2-0 Tottenham - Didier Drogba (22 mins)
He's still got it! Didier Drogba shows Harry Kane how it's done as he finishes crisply with his first chance of the night. Hugo Lloris scuffs a goal-kick out and he is ruthlessly punished, Eden Hazard and Oscar combine to carve open the Spurs back four and Drogba skips past Jan Vertonghen and thumps home.
20:03 GOAL Chelsea 1-0 Tottenham - Eden Hazard (19 mins)
Chelsea turn it on and when they do that, nobody can live with them. Eden Hazard cuts inside from the left, plays a slick one-two with Didier Drogba and cannons a low shot right through Hugo Lloris. The keeper gets a hand to it, but can't keep it out.

Hopefully the banner like our match day programme most of the time has little reflection on the game as Costa will be missing for them and hopefully so will Stambouli and Ade

We've got nothing to lose. We go there with no expectations, based on past performances over the years. Think we need to go and park the bus then try and hit them on the break.

Typical this is our next game after finally seeing Pochettino's style out in force yesterday lol.

That said maybe it is a good time to catch them.

Costa is a big miss for them if you look at how many home goals he's scored for them this season, more than half.

They are a level above us, no doubt, all things even but I just get the feeling we could nick something if we rid the inferiority complex but that's a lot easier said than done.

Fuck it, I'm going 1-1 (and I called 2-1 against Everton lol)

I called 1-2 in favour of Everton, so I'm continuing my pessimistic predictions as usually we win when I do.

Chelsea 3-1... They miss costa, but Hazard is a tricky little fecker.

If we play like we did yesterday, there is every chance we'll score. I think the trouble might be limiting them. I know it's a pessimistic way of looking at it, but as long as we play with the levels we did against Everton I'd probably take a 1 goal win...

Let's smash those ****s.

Always want to beat these fuckers but cant see beyond a 3-0 defeat and Im being realistic here not negative just saying.
This game represents one of our seasonal defeats on a regular basis we have never done well against these even before they were formed in 2005 so another year wont do any harm.

I think we'll lose 3 or 4 nil.

I know we should be aiming to do better against the top sides but Chelsea are miles ahead of the rest and we're only just starting to get going.

If we could get a draw I'd be utterly delighted.

This made me laugh....from a Chav:

also watched the Spurs game and it caused me genuine concern as they seemed to gel as a team and played with a lot of passion and spirit. But they still have mental problems with a late Everton surge that was visible in the game. Pochettino is getting his ideas on the pitch finally and that is good to see.

above article about kane's performance against everton. will reference it to my points below

and i think this is key. and assuming we start the same 11.

tactically, here are some of my thoughts, watching us and them this season.

- chelsea kills teams that plays a high defensive line, because they pass the ball so quickly and their entire midfield can slip a through ball and they have willing runners beyond the line all day long.
- unlike arsenal though, their superiority when playing teams who hold a deeper defensive line, is that they do not rely on one single player to create or beat a player or do something to penetrate - hazard, oscar, willian, fabregas are all capable
- defensively, they are very organised, and what hurts to say is that they have defenders who will throw their bodies on the line to block any shots and will close down any space outside the box (esp when player lines up to take a shot) like a pack of wolves.

that said, where i feel we must do to stop them, and then overcome them are
- on occasions when they have the ball over the halfway line, drop deep and play a deep line like we did against arsenal and be compact and always have a 2nd player waiting if oscar, willian, hazard, matic and fabregas should decide to dribble and beat their player... also see how sunderland defended against them... no space for the through ball and restricted them to long shots.
- on occasions when they have the ball in the defensive third, say a short goal kick or throw in, or if they recover possession when we attacked... press them if and when opportunity presents... lennon on azpilicueta, soldado on terry, kane on cahill, eriksen on fabregas and mason on matic with nabil ready to intercept any ball into the middle when they have possession on their left back presents good opportunities to do a similar attack to our 2nd goal against everton.
- unlike barry (and arteta / wilshere / flamini) though, matic and fabregas tend not to dwell on the ball upon receiving possession as much... the aforementioned do like to control, look up, take a second touch before releasing (especially when the nearest men are marked, because they often play the short passes)... matic and fabregas tend to release it much faster and almost always knowing which passing option to choose before the ball is even near.......... which means that if we were to press, we must cut their options out, else we will just be wasting energy

**this is key to me... because they are organised and know they can win a 50-50, i often notice that chelsea is most vulnerable when
- one of hazard, willian, oscar, fabregas loses the ball, and when players sprint directly at them instead of passing it.. because cahill and terry would be at / near the halfway line and they have to decide whether to confront the runner and foul him or back peddle and leave space for the runner to exploit.
- also oddly enough, despite proving to the best centre pairing over this season, and both matic and fabregas being very very good at winning back possession... they do tend to commit and the opportunity will arise if you can shrug them off or sprint past them like bolasie, di maria and sterling did on occasions.

that is why i raised the kane article.

him eriksen and lennon are key to the above tactics. in fact, add nabil and mason to this lot. these 5 can press at pace and if they win possession, can also run at you with menace.

soldado i reckon, will play a big part if we are to win, and will chalk up an assist or two as he will look to be open if and when we turnover possession in their half, and do what he has been doing brilliantly, lay it off first time to a runner. or repeat what he did against everton.

I guarantee Mourinho will make changes, and not just forced ones. Ramires will come in for them I reckon.
