Actually saw the transworld sport show when it first aired with Lamela.
It was on a stupid o clock in the morning channel 4.
To be truthful I thought he looked like a girl.
No I didn't follow him blindly, but when he started to score a few a Roma I remembered the young lad from the show all them years before.
When he became linked and signed for us.
Yes I was ecstatic, will he be a success, yes he will.
Will he turn up every game and be wonderous, nope.
Will he be erratic, most definitely.
Most top player's don't tend to be blinding every game. We just remember the good parts and forget the bad bits.

All very passionate. I was excited too. But I am a Spurs fan first.
Is it wrong for me to ask for 90 minutes of good football in one game from this player ?
What is that Lamela has given in last 1.4 years representing us ?
I can only judge a player from what I have seen.
His desire to play is 100%, he works fo r the team - I agree with that too & never disputed that.

But I am demanding as any fan is here. If you take out your spurs tinted glass & listen to other club fans & commentators/pundits/who ever else has a opinion, fact is almost every one would say - 'If he is good as people make him out out to be, I am yet to see it...' This is a fact. He hasnt done anything remotely noteworthy. And my option is based on this fact

I dont get bothered by the disagrees here. In your heart, you know what I am saying is true as well.

Footballing wise, he has a big flaw technically. Fact that he has zero right foot means any quality defense in PL, will just show him to his right foot & rob him of the ball. And if you say Bale as an example - Bale was so good in left foot but his right foot was decent too. Even in his yearly years he constantly setup others with right foot &scored too. The position Bale playing - wide left means he had to use his left foot most time. Once he moved to right side or middle, evenutally we saw his right foot as well. So, its not like he never had it. In case of Lamela, he hasnt got it & he has got to work on it.This might look a trivial point - but this is one single thing which will make him less effective in PL.

It may take a year or so for him, to develop his game. But we havent got that time. We cannot carry a passenger for another year. But knowing his price tag, realistically he will stay & I dont see Levy selling him.

I have to keep seeing him & hope like you that he would come good. But its a hope based on nothing.

You make it sound as if Lamela is holding us back. If we were to put any one of our others players under the same microscope and detail their flaws with the same scrutiny, you will see that Lamela while not perfect (far from it), is not all that bad as you make him out to be.

Wow, we operate like a proper business and speculate to accumulate, who would have thought of that, revolutionary...
Levy part owns a multiple million pound business, would you pay yourself peanuts?
No you wouldn't, your argument and logic is flawed, out of your depth mate.
Who said he should pay himself peanuts?
Asking why the chairman of the lowest net spenders should pay himself more than 95% of other PL chairman is not saying he deserves peanuts. And it's not a flawed argument is it. To back your support of Levy up by saying I'm out of my depth is both silly and childish

That's true, but not only are we looking at beating our 1951 PPG. we are, more relevantly perhaps, looking to beat our averages of the past few seasons: Harry's 1.84 and 1.82, Villas-Boas' 1.89 in 2012-13, Sherwood's 1.91 last season. That's a tall order, especially when our three strikers have managed just five goals between them so far. As I said, it's extremely unlikely that anyone is going to need 80 points to get fourth this season, and it's entirely possible that 65 will do it, but we'll do very well indeed to get even that after our start; as for our rivals, yes, it's helpful that they've been as poor as we have, but in the end it's up to us to take advantage, and we've signally failed to do so this far. We've thrown away at least nine points at home, and but for a couple of hefty dollops of jam could be right out of contention. Suddenly, Soldado scores his third league goal from open play in almost a season-and-a-half and we pull a couple of good performances out of the blue (one of them a heavy defeat) and it's dancing in the street.

Chelsea and City are already out of sight, so that's two top four places gone. Ominously, United appear to be getting their act together; they've taken 13 from their last six. There's been much amusement at Arsenal's expense, but they've taken 12. We've taken nine.

People are free to do what they like with their own money; if they want to boost Paddy Power and co's profits, that's fine by me.

You were almost certainly saying very similar, woe be us, things when we did qualify for the champions league. Because that was from far less likely a position and facing a horrible run of games.

Of course its unlikely. But its not quite as impossible as people make out. Certain fans seem to take great pride in downplaying our chances, i suspect its to give it the big 'i told you so' if it doesnt come off.

Im not looking for a low risk investment opportunity... Im just looking to enjoy supporting my team by not throwing in the towel a third of the way through the season because we are 3-4 points off the pace.

Actually, I wasn't, for the very good reason that after 14 games in 2009-10 we'd taken 26 points and scored 32 goals (and in 2011-12, when we also got fourth but failed to qualify, we were on 31 and had scored 30). Do I understand you aright? We were less likely to get fourth then than this season, when we've got a somewhat fortunate 20 points, scored barely half the goals and got ourselves a minus GD? What are you on about?

It really cracks me up that we manage to string together two good performances after a run of near-undiluted crud and Soldado manages not only to get a shot on target but into the net as well and it's suddenly dancing in the street. Well, sorry, I'm going to take it a game at a time and not get carried away, because I've seen far too many false dawns in over 50 years, and we may have used up a fair chunk of this season's good luck quota already. If we get 11-12 points from the next six games, I'll allow myself to believe top six could be on.

Who said anything about throwing in the towel? What the fuck has boosting Paddy Power's profits got to do with supporting Spurs? Why not pledge the money to some football charity if we get fourth, buy a kid in Burkina Faso or somewhere a pair of boots? You'll feel better for it.

If we swap QPR for Norwich we are actually level points against same teams as last season. 6-2-6 against 6-2-6.
Goal diff 18-21 as against 15-24 last term.
So we have improved?????!!!
If (I know....) we win the next 4 games we will be 2 points better than 18 games last term.
