Sadly, for the sake of his confidence, I think he must play on Sunday. If he is dropped then he will get the message that the manager has lost faith and confidence with him, and that would be fatal if we want him to return to form, (which we do, even if only till Jan, lots of games to play before then and now).

He's a talented player but unless we have someone alongside him to keep him focused he will cost us dearly as he did on Thursday. But to be honest, he should be 5th choice CB, maybe even 6th after Velkjovic so he should be at the back of the queue to play next. I don't buy the fitness argument either - it was schoolboy defending errors across the back-four in particular ALL NIGHT on thursday the like of which I thought we'd consigned to the 80s so I wish him luck but prefer that he tried to regain fitness for someone else starting some time in January.

The most shocking performance from a Spurs player in years. Was nothing to do with fitness as he was all over the place all game. Was wrong side of forward all the time and didn't seem to have a clue what he was doing. He was also shocking against WBA. We sold Caulker & then got Vlad in , that's just as shocking!
