It is relevant in that he can link up and combine well - that wasn't just about exploiting space, some of it was indeed quite intricate actually.

A powerful CF who can hold the ball up and link well with others in an intelligent sort of way is right for us. Sorry don't agree with you at all.
Ha, well I'll eat my hat if it happens. Poch wants mobile multi-facets players, who press. Benteke just doesn't fit the bill.

Well its all moot anyway because I really can't see Liverpool selling to a rival and taking a loss.

And yes we want our players to press, its not rocket science though lol. If Poch thought he could develop Benteke I'd be all for it.

Less moot than you might think. I'm in Merseyside for work this week, some of the ITK up here are saying Pjanic in-Benteke out.

Still, be nice to have options at the club, good tutors for our youngsters too.

Pjanic is a quality player, couldn't see Roma letting him go?

I'm a little confused as to why Liverpool, a team who would consider us direct rivals, would offer us a solution to the most glaring issue with our squad, which is a lack of depth up front. Benteke would only make us stronger squad wise, so it's a little odd Liverpool would come to us asking about a deal. Unless there's something up with him fitness or attitude wise.

It's often the case that the player is told he is not in the long term plans and his agent is the one to get the ball rolling. Clubs rarely tout players themselves anymore.

Yeah, would've been very surprised if it were the club reelin this one. Not at all surprised if his agent is behind this if this bit is genuine.

100% would take him - loved him for ages and would be an asset here!

Ah that would make more sense then, cheers!

For value and ability I wouldn't want him, never been that big of fan. Think there are equal quality, lower price and bigger potential players out there.

Struggle to see him leaving Roma for Liverpool, but if they did end up with Pjanic that would suck balls, real quality player.

Personally, beyond the fact Benteke is probably on inflated wages and unlikely to take a pay cut to be our rotation striker, I would much prefer to find someone quicker as an alternative to Kane.

I think the main issue here is that the reason Benteke is being left out of Liverpool's lineup and might be available in the first place is that Klopp has obviously come to the conclusion that he does not suit a high-pressing system. We play (roughly) the same way so I'd be surprised if Poch and Mitchell felt differently about his ability to slot into Poch's philosophy.

Looking like they really want to sell before they make any big moves. Both Sturridge and Benteke available but the list of clubs willing and able to take either, I would imagine to be very small. Considering how much Pool would want and also their current wage deals and injury records neither are going to offer anything like vfm.

If Poch wants him then I'll put my faith in him. I do know we need backup for Kane and need it in January.
