He roams around finding pockets of space to keep the ball moving

Coming deep isn't 'finding pockets' - it makes it easier for an opposing back four because they just don't have to worry about him from any of the starting front three positions.

That's something he's started doing more frequently in the past month or so and I'm not sure if he's doing it because of a dip in form or if doing it has caused the dip in form.

It's not something he does often, more so as games drag on and he begins to tire. Most of the time he's drifting somewhere between 18-30 yards out, which are the pockets I'm referring to.

I think the frustration with Eriksen is partly that he has fantastic ability and oozes class, and also that he at times doesn't put in the perceived effort to secure that central role in the team. Undoubtedly he is a quality player, and the composure and technical proficiency with which he took the goal demonstrates his class. Just needs to be a little more...tenancious perhaps? A touch more effort to secure that central role, where we hope he can start to pull the strings.

Started to drop a bit deeper as the first half went on and you could see there was potential in a central midfield 3, Eriksen-Dier-(another), but it would require a little more from the two wide players in the front 3. Not sure Chadli and Onomah would be able to do that, not at the moment, but I think it would really get more from our Dane.

With regards to the stats and how they're being held up as some sort of reason why he's better than his performances have been, I disagree. Even on Sunday he was somewhat disappointing, I actually thought Onomah was at least as good if not better than him against Leicester.

Fair enough he scored, but he didn't do much else besides that and it was a pretty easy chance...there were a few times when again, his final ball was terrible...the corner in the last minutes was absolutely abysmal. For a creative player he should be making more chances for me.

If you compare his performances to Alli this season, he's not really been at it and for all his assists this season, comparatively I don't think he's contributed anywhere near enough to the amount of goals we've scored. Maybe it's from the injury, but I just don't think he's been good enough lately.

Again, against West Ham he was excellent, looked the best player on the park, but there aren't too many games besides that I can think of where he's really stood out. A player of his ability should be affecting games and having major parts in goals a lot more than he has been, he's certainly nowhere near how important Luka was for us and not playing as well as he has done previously in a Spurs shirt IMO.

He's a very talented player, no doubt about it, but I can't help feeling that he could be doing more.

I think he showed against Leicester why a lot of Spurs fans get so frustrated with him. Obviously has the talent but just seems to waste so much of that talent.

Last season he scored last minute winners against Hull, Swansea and Sunderland.

Now by the 85th minute Pochettino has hauled him off. However bad he plays he has the coolness to influence a game at the death.

I hate to criticise Pochettino but I feel he needs to show more faith in Eriksen based on what we've seen he can do

His Danish manager has been proven right about him hiding too often and being too casual. I might get slaughtered on here, but I would upgrade on him in the summer. He is too light weight , rarely tackles ( I actually laughed out loud last night when he fowled someone ). His corners frustrate the life out of me ( yes I know Toby has scored off a couple of near post corners) but it seems he has no strength in his legs and is unable to hit a ball with power over any distance, even his free kicks lack power and are placed , which I think keepers have sussed out and now position themselves knowing they will have time to get across.

In short he needs dropping and a kick up the arse, he is not as creative as people make out and causes us real problems in defence when played out wide. Hurry back Pritchard

Been saying the same for months but just get shot down every time because he scored a couple of late winners last season. He is easily replaceable.

Been thinking the same thing. In the last 15-20 minutes, both teams are tired, and even if we're facing a deep lying defence like Leicesters, there's always bound to be more lapses in concentration late on, and more pockets of space between the lines. Furthermore, he's probably one of the players that we miss the most when he's suddenly not playing.

This is not a way to negate your entire post by picking on one thing, but I really don't see that Eriksen is at fault for the corner thing. It has been a long standing issue, he has been shite at corners for his entire time at Spurs. By now, "somebody" should simply stop asking him to do the corners. It's not his fault if he is repeatedly asked to do something he can't.

He needs to be dropped.

I'd much rather Son be given the chance to get his groove back on the left with either Dembele or Ali central (although they tend to swap about).

And also give Onomah some game time off the bench, decent game time like 20-25 mins, as he showed more against Leicester last night then a lot of our overpaid first teamers.

Eriksen can be quality but far too hot and cold and you can't afford players like that in a team challenging for top 4 or even the league.

Not knee jerk either, I've said this before in here.

I hope he proves me wrong and shows his undoubted potential but he hasn't stepped up thus far.

Can't afford to have a player so hot and cold.

Eriksen's form only highlights the lack of creativity in the side. When he doesn't perform we need the likes of lamela etc to shine....
The form of chadli son etc could also be questioned.... But it is only apparent when Eriksen fails to.

The form of Son and Chadli from the bench?

I'm a huge fan of his but getting increasingly frustrated with his lack of impression on games. I'd like to see Chadli or even Onomah start in the three behind Kane on Saturday.

Eriksen is a very good player - good vision - great a dead ball situations FREE KICK variety - dogshit at corners - Not one for a 50/50 tackle - don't think his mum likes it if he get his football boots dirty.

Think we need a little bit extra from him and Lamela from games like last night and often we don't imo

His recent form is questionable. I belive he will come good.

The sugestions above about shifting him on is crazy. I guess its the same people who always thinks that the guy on the bench would do a much better job than the ones playing.
