he will thrive with quality players around him, we should go for him while we can afford him and his demands - before one of Europe's money teams turn his head.
What has he got that Sigurdsson doesn't? Seriously, I'd consider them both to be of the same calibre/potential, except Siggy is maybe a bit more suited to the pace and power of the EPL.
Yeah, if true he's deffo not going in the next window. And by the end of the season his value might have shot up, so unfortunately I can't see this one happening.Eriksen has said that he doesn't consider himself ready for a big move and wants to perfect his game before stepping up to a big league, just like Vertonghen did. He said something along the line of "perfecting" his game.
That's, to me, a pretty sound way of looking at it, but at the same time the buying club will have to pay more due to his quality if he develops as he could, compared to the prize for his potential.

Eriksen is one of the most highly regarded talents in europe
It's in everyone's best interest if we wait until Summer on this one.
From Eriksen's perspective: He got it right. He needs to be more consistent. He even mentioned Verts as an example. First half of the season last year Verts was okay, but in the second half he turned it on and rounded out his game more. Eriksen is looking to do the same, and if he does that, a move will be inevitable.
From Spurs perspective: If we are going to spend that much money on him as is being rumored, then we want a pretty solid product. Eriksen has shown flashes of greatness but on the whole season has not been great. Consistency is something that separates the good players from the great. I'm sure if we intend on dishing out 20m, we want that player to be of the 'great' variety. Also, I'm sure a Summer of training will do him good to get acclimated into the squad. I'm not sure how well he would transition immediately, and for me, that's what the January window is primarily about.
You just know Calsie will be at one of the Manc clubs soon enough.Agree Adam Maher is excellent also, as is Jordy Clasie - the Dutch Xavi
The problem with this is that if we wait for Eriksen to improve and become more consistent then his price ends up rocketing, bigger clubs go in for him and then we've got no chance (kind of like what happened with Leandro). Although we all want it, we can rarely go out and buy the finished product. We need to get players in when they're raw (like Modric) and develop them.
