Get what you're saying about the wide forwards dropping back into winger roles, but hopefully if it's done right they won't have to as the full backs with push high.

AVB plays high up the pitch. With 2 anchoring centre mids the full backs will have cover to go forward. The 2 wide men cut inside onto their preferred feet and assist the central attacking mid with dictating play and finding opportunities for the striker.

Think of how Brazil have been working lately, that kind of system. It's very aggressive and can be risky but when attacking you have a multitude of options behind the striker - the full backs and the 3 attacking mids, plus maybe one of the centre mids making late runs (Paulinho's strength). It does mean though that the defence have to be able to get back quick as opposition will look to counter.
Brazil is the comparison I've been using for a good while now, it's a great template for what we should be aiming for. Especially when AVB spends so much time watching South American football it's bound to be something he's thinking off.

I'd like to see Eriksen used there sometimes as I feel ours seem to play with to much winger like tendencies so don't support inside as much as I would like. Having Eriksen there I think would work because he would naturally come inside like that position should do, a bit like Coutinho for Liverpool. It would also have the added advantage of being able to use Holtby at the same time in a deeper, central position. I think he has the work rate to be able to do well in that role both offensively and defensively.

But from AVBs comments he sees Eriksen as more of a player maker so I expect to see him kept centrally alongside Sandro and Paulinho adopting a similar role to that of Oscars for Brazil.

For me we're missing one key component for that. Although Brazil use the holding centre mids, full backs and attacking mid in the way that I said before their attacking set up is different to ours. Brazil is more set up like a 4-2-1-3 with Neymar and Hulk playing as inverted wide forwards. With Lamela we can do that but I don't know if we'd use both Eriksen and Holtby as well as they can play the Oscar role, but not the wide forward role, not really enough of a goal threat. I'm not sure if we have a player who can do that, perhaps Chadli but I've not seen enough of him yet to say whether he's a real goal threat.

How was he in the Denmark game?
Saw some of first half. He's like what Tommy C will be in a couple of years if he develops as he should. Both similar types of players. He'll get the team passing and moving - one/two touch - and help raise the tempo and thread clever balls. Great little player.

I only knew Dortmund were linked with him and had no idea PSG was after him.

According to the Danish media big spending PSG tried to hijack the Tottenham Hotspur’s signing Christian Eriksen at the last minute.

The Danish international recently joined the Premier League club from Dutch side Ajax after months of speculation about his future.

BT (No relation to the phone and TV company) confirmed this morning that PSG approached the player just before he signed for Spurs and were willing to pay way above what the North London club were offering. They were also prepared to pay Eriksen a larger salary than what was on the table with Spurs.

PSG were one of a number of teams which were looking at signing the Danish superstar with the likes of Zenit Saint Petersburg, Bayer Leverkusen and CSKA Moscow being turned down by the 21 year old. He was also followed by the likes of Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund but formal bids didn’t come in from the two sides.

BT reported that Eriksen turned down PSG straight away when the last minute bid came because he had already made his mind up to go to White Hart Lane. His reasons were that he didn’t want to turn down an English club that had title ambitions just to make millions in Paris and his representatives told the French club to come back another time. Eriksen eventually went ahead in joining Spurs, signing a five year contract which will see him at the club until 2018.

Eriksen is part of the Andre Villas Boas rebuilding plan at Spurs after they yesterday lost their star player Gareth Bale to Real Madrid. The club have spent millions in the summer window as they look to qualify for the Champions League next season or even challenge for the Premier League title. Villas Boas has brought in the likes of Paulinho, Roberto Soldado , Erik Lamela, Nadir Chadli and Étienne Capoue to the club.

He says he turned down PSG and Dortmund to join us

No he doesn't.

He said he spoke to Dortmund a long time ago as they were contacting each player they were interested in. There is nothing about him actually turning them down.

Also, there are no actual quotes from Eriksen about PSG.

Lets not dress it up too much ;)
