Eriksen is the only player in the squad who has vision, awareness and real passing ability. For that reason he should always start. He has always had problems with consistency though but as has been said, he's only 21.

One thing he does need though is to toughen up a bit. He gets brushed off the ball far too easily. Modric is a great example of a slight player who could still mix it with stronger players. I think this is a mindset though, as he was brought up in a more physical croatian league rather than the dutch league, which is a bit airy fairy.

I'd love Eriksen to become our new Modric and play a little deeper. This season has shown how much you need a good passer and link player in the middle to start attacks.
Dembele is no where near good enough in the role he was used as yesterday. Little turn, run then either tackled or shit pass.
If Eriksen could develop his strength to be able to cope with the midfield battles, he'd be perfect

He should be a guaranteed starter, in my opinion. He has his weaknesses, and we should pick a team to let him play to his strenghts.

We also need to start making runs behind the opponents defence, so that our playmaker have someone to pick out with passes. We have too many players standing still.

I think people have generally been over rating his performances tbh... sigs has put in performances of a similar level and he gets absolutely slaughtered.

His best game was when he was in CM against southampton imo, put in a good disciplined performance. Personally dont think hes ready for the #10 role atm because he drifts out of games so easily and doesn't do enough off the ball if things are not going his way.

shouldn't be expecting so much of him so early, he is only 21, best years yet to come.

Agree with that, still only in his first half year (injury taken into account) of prem league football. Weve seen enough to know he will be able to cope once he is fully acclimatised.

We need another creative spark in midfield though to take the pressure off

Lamela couldn't get fit sooner.

I like Eriksen a lot but he has been a little underwhelming. I think more then anything he should not be expected to be the creative hub of the team yet. Being 21 and playing in a new league has got to be tough, i think its a real shame that Lamela has been out injured as the two playing together is exactly what our team needs and they could share the creative load.

With all the upheaval in our squad and club in general, 2 coaches in his first few months, numerous systems/team mates and positions he's found himself in, I don't think he's done bad at all.
He gives us something different and I really hope he kicks on next year.

Overall I'd say he's performed at the same level as other new Premier League recruits, just thankfully cost about £32.5m less......

He has a lot of talent, but he is poor when it comes to consistency. He's very very loose with his passing at times. He's not expected to get involved in too much defensive work, so he has to offer more going forward. He has the ability to be very inventive, so we need to see more of that.

Yep, a bit too much pressure for the lad to be relied on as our main creator. Which is why it was a bit disapointing to see Holtby shipped out. I though he looked knackered second half against Everton.

It would help if he had other players around him who thought in the same way. Like say...Holtby and Lamela

exactly. and Id go further and say using Dembele the way we have is the single biggest factor in our offensives woes the last year and a half. As good as he is, he isnt a good passer. Bale papered over it last year, but this year its obvious. I want Sandro and Ericksen in the middle every game, and Paulinho or Dembele joining them as circumstances dictate.

He is definitely promising

He is a bit lightweight at the moment and the pace of the English games catches him out. The physical side of our game should not be underestimated, many call it acclimatising but not many of our summer signings have really got to grip with it.

When the heart of the team has changed it is difficult to reset the beat and I think thats what we are suffering with most The future might look good but the here and now is a struggle

totally right! I was there and our movement was non existent. anyone have any idea why our players thought static positions were going to help our cause?!

Personally I think that negates his true talents which are neat and tiddy control of the ball, an eye for the deadly pass close to the box, and the eye for goal.

He is not a modric. He is an Iniesta (could become that good if he stays focused)

He's intelligent and can pick a pass so he offers something we don't have in the others.
Still nowhere near a top-4 level creator but he has time on his side i guess.
Needs to develop physically (strength/pace) so that he could do some damage himself, but maybe thats asking for too much. If only we could combine him with dembele.

Talented boy, and the one I was looking forward to watching the most of the summer signings but tbh he has been largely disappointing to date. Looks physically weak and very one paced, with his dead balls being pretty inconsistent at best.
Hopefully it's a transitional season and he will get to play in the 10 role which imo suits him best.
