The frustrating thing about Christian is that you realise how much better he could be. I think he plays too much within himself and that Poch hasn't found the best way to exploit his talents. He can be seriously world class. The lad will come good eventually i.e. reach his outstanding potential, but I really hope that he does it with us and not someone else.

ditch the 4-2-3-1 and we will see the best of eriksen either in the midfield 3 or attacking 3 of a 4-3-3

Is he not blossoming enough in this system? I think no matter what system he is in he will drift in and out of the game he is just one of those players. If he didn't have the goal scoring abilities he does it would be good to use him in a mid 3 but he wouldn't be near the goal enough to make a good contribution.

Amazing how many times he beats goalies at their near posts.

Reminds me of when someone asked Lloris who's shots were the hardest to save in training and he said Eriksen because you can never tell where he's going to put the ball. I think a lot of the time Eriksen opens up his body to make it looks like he's going across goal and then instead he goes near post

not for me when he has much more potential. Systems can dictate how these kinda of player perform.

I dont agree, he would be the furthest forward of the 3 midfielders and would be able to see the better spaces to operate in and would pop up in much more dangerous positions more often as he isnt the greatest with his back to goal, which is how you mainly operate in the #10 position.

I think I might love him, don't tell the wife him and Kane are our season. He is bloody good any attacking position he will shine, remember is only 22-23. Sometimes I wonder if he should play in the 2, to speed up our play but his our best mid in the final third and score so many goals.

In both cases, he still needs more movement and playmaking from deeper in midfield. He's just not seeing sufficient supply of the ball nor enough space, hence why he's constantly having to check deep to receive the ball, with and of course almost entirely with his back to goal.

What is it with the people making football compilations. Why can't they just add some decent music to it? Always some terrible dance shit.

Conversely though, that video really helps highlight just how many quality chances he creates that aren't finished. For such an established No 10, even the most clueless bloke has to see his tally of goals and assists and think, "huh?" Such an influential player, even if doesn't put up a typical playmaker's numbers.

I love him.

Thank god Madrid have 51 illegal academy transfers from outside the EU. Ban them, FIFA! 12 month incoming ban! Same as Barca!

can we have an adaptation of his song to include something about being relieved to get him rather than the dude from the Black Eyed Peas who also plays for Chelsea? Where does he get the time from; hes literally everywhere!

Christian Eriksen
Two free-kicks in a week to show why Christian Eriksen might just be European football's Next Big Thing, the Dane continues his one-man mission to prove that Tottenham's summer 2013 transfer business wasn't a complete disaster.
It's very easy to forget that Eriksen is still 22. Next month he will gain his 50th international cap, and alongside Kane is responsible for dragging Spurs into the race for the top four. His is an understated brilliance, but it should not be under-estimated.

Two years ago Alex Ferguson lavished the praise on Eriksen. "We have many young players at the club, but we are always looking for talent," Ferguson said. "It's impossible to predict." Johan Cruyff is also a big fan, calling Eriksen "a player I really like with all my heart". High praise indeed.

The only surprise is that Spurs were able to land a player of such potential. There will be many worried that it is a case of when, rather than if, a Superclub comes calling. The Dane is a different type of player, but Real Madrid paid €80m for James Rodriguez at 23 last summer. At seven months younger, I'd say Eriksen has as much ability as the latest Galactico.
