First post on here. Go easy. Going to the Etihad on Sunday for this huge game. Got home from work tonight and greeted with this lovely e-mail...
Please note, supporters sat in the new 3rd tier level at the Ethiad will be asked to remain seated at all times, due to the steep nature of the stand. Please assist the Spurs and Manchester City stewards working in this area in listening to their advice.

£50 and they want us to sit down?! I think not!!

So how do they expect you to get to your seats?

Do you have to crawl on your hands and knees?

Will they airlift you in?

Do they, perchance, have a Stanna fitted to take you to your row of seats?

And what happens if one of the stewards wants you to leave for standing? If you sit back down, he is going to have to ask you to stand up to leave. At which point, you should refuse and say "ah, ah, ah, you can't catch me out like that, I'm not allowed to stand up. Remember?"

WALOB indeed.

I've been practising my seated celebration. It resembles a gyrating with a small leap off the seat. Being careful not to stand of course.

It sounds like they're saying the stand isn't fit for use while you're stood up and presents a health and safety issue. It doesn't sound very safe so I hope they have some kind of nets at the front to catch all the tumbling Spurs fans, maybe you should tie yourself to your seat with some climbing rope and a harness, just to be sure :joyful:

Be careful, remember who owns that club.
You'll probably be sentenced to a public lashing for insubordination.

Reminds me of when I was in the Park Lane upper a few years ago on the very back row with nobody in front of me, just stairs. When I was sat down the seat folding out meant that my feet were basically on the edge of the stairs and if I were to celebrate I would probably go flying down the stairs! So naturally I stood up and quelle surprise the stewards came racing up the stairs to tell me to sit down. I told them that it was safer for me to stand as it meant I had more room and that I probably wouldn't go flying down the stairs if we scored and they told me I had to sit down (despite having nobody behind me) because the United fans saw me standing and thought they could stand as a result :ROFLMAO:

I wasn't around in the days of standing areas but I can't see why they can't create a safe standing area, especially given that the majority of away fans stand for 90 minutes in this country and other countries operate safe standing with no issues.

Well I certainly won't be sitting. I have never done so at an away game. Can I politely ask anyone else in the 3rd tier also refuses to sit.....
Funny that it wasn't specified on the purchasing of the 3 tickets I got which came to over £150

What happens at the end of the match when everybody in the third tier gets up to leave at the same time, surely that must be dangerous too and if so doesn't that make it unfit for purpose?

£50 to sit down?

Sounds a bit steep...
