If we do get 15M€ for Njie, we should sell. Why? This is way above his actual market value.

@OLNews_eng Can you tell me a bit about N'Jie, mate?

OL News / English ‏@OLNews_eng 23m23 minutes ago
@THFCSPURS19 Striker or winger, (very) quick and instinctive player. Mostly a sub last year, got 7 goals, 7 assists. Still quite raw.

Yidforlife19 ‏@THFCSPURS19 25m25 minutes ago
@OLNews_eng Do you think he'll sign for Spurs?

OL News / English ‏@OLNews_eng 21m21 minutes ago
@THFCSPURS19 if Spurs match the price tag (15M€) I think we'll let him go.

Yidforlife19 ‏@THFCSPURS19 18m18 minutes ago
@OLNews_eng Thanks. I've heard his first touch isn't that good, is this accurate? Also, is he a good finisher?

OL News / English ‏@OLNews_eng 17m17 minutes ago
@THFCSPURS19 very accurate, can be frustrating at times indeed. But he's got the best chance-to-goal ratio in our team.

Yidforlife19 ‏@THFCSPURS19 14m14 minutes ago
@OLNews_eng I suppose he's very young, so that can be fixed. Last question- what's his work rate like- especially defensively?

OL News / English ‏@OLNews_eng 4m4 minutes ago
@THFCSPURS19 quite good. He works hard. Overall, think it might be too early for him to play in the EPL though. Still very raw.

Why would you want 3 LWFs, in addition to Chadli?

That would just be like Redknapp and his 6-a-side team of RBs
Both Berahino and N'jie can also play RWF as well. We are woefully short of any kind of pace in behind so I'm not complaining.

People are misguided. Austin has no more to his game than Grant Holt. Just because he scored a few goals last season everyone is getting giddy.

I don't like Austin but that's absolutely incorrect. He's been scoring for fun for his entire career:

2006–2007 Kintbury Rangers 27 (20)
2007–2008 Hungerford Town 30 (5)
2008 Thatcham Town 0 (0)
2008–2009 Poole Town 42 (48)
2009–2011 Swindon Town 54 (31)
2011–2013 Burnley 82 (41)
2013– Queens Park Rangers 66 (35)

I'd still rather have someone else but as a back up CF he's definitely a decent shout.

As another here mentioned, N'Jie and Berahino are very good options. Together they'd give us great coverage across the front three while only buying two players. Both have very promising futures even if they are very raw.

The good thing about raw though is that the manager can make them into whatever he wants. Give Pochettino two seasons with them and they'll be stars.

Tbf, he never got the service at Hungerford town.

Not sold by him and can't put my finger on why, rather Werner and Berhaino
I'd prefer Werner as well, he's 3 years younger and has more top-flight experience, but it looks like he wants to stay where he is for now. N'Jie is still a very good option, I feel and if we can get Berahino as well, we would have done what we need to with regards to our attacking options (still want Yarmolenko though...).

Of his 41 goals at Burnley I wonder how many came from Trippier crosses...

Considering most teams that play us camp on the edge of their box pace in behind isn't our issue. With pacey full backs you need the players in front to have good technique and passing and the ability to dribble and pass through defenses. Its quite concerning that the OL source above said his first touch isn't that great and he's mainly a sub. €15m for a player that is mainly a sub seems a lot.

Does have a good scoring record though.

Just watched this video, seems to be the best one showcasing his play from last season.

What stands out to me is that he's popping up on either flank and looks perfectly happy either way.

Also, at times when he could shoot he is unselfish and sliding nice passes into Lacazette to get assists instead.

Equally though, the first goal in the video shows him through the middle, beating the offside trap and rounding the keeper with confidence.

There are other lovely finishes throughout (2 min 45ish a good example).

Pace to burn. Appreciate he'll have things to work on and improve but for a reported 10.5 million quid, I think he'd be a great addition.

Pace
Directness
Assists
Versatility
Youth

Sounds good, Daniel- let's do it.

Darren Bent scored a lot of goals at different levels. Problem is he didn't have the correct skill set to benefit the whole dynamic.

Austin is the same. We don't need a battering ram striker. We need a striker with finesse, guile and subtley to get through stubborn defences.

I think this does Kane something of a disservice - I think he could play the 2nd striker slightly deeper role alongside someone like Austin - the difficulty is of course that we have only really played 1 up front unless we are chasing games that said it might be nice to have the option of playing 2 on occasions especially at home

Lyon based journo saying he is absent from training today - no clarification as to why so may just be the injury he had last week
