Tottenham do not have the strength in depth to compete in both the Premier League and the Champions League - according to Clive Allen.

Clive is spurs through and through and has I believe the clubs best interests at heart and I think he is right, we do not have the quality in depth.

Clive is a Spurs legend true but generally he talks bollocks imo and I find his match commentary unlistenable most of the time even when its us he's commenting on. Sometimes I think he's watching a different game so personally I don't care what he thinks. Still love you though Clive

I think we have a good squad capable of challenging the Premiership and going further than the group stage in the Champions League, the problem is that we're playing at Wembley which will be our biggest Achilles heel this season, not the squad itself.

We have an imperfect squad, but it isn't outrageously weak. However, the sooner we realise that we have an underlying injury problem extending beyond merely bad luck and what's normal, the better.

I agree with him, particularly in CM, decent but not the depth required for 2 games a week. at that level

It's not easy building a team that can compete with the best at the same time as building a new stadium. Truth is, we haven't quite got enough money to be up there with a handful of clubs in England. We're lucky that at the moment we can underpay a few players and have a first eleven that competes but in some positions like central defence we haven't got strength in depth. Need a few youngsters to come through the ranks and save us a fortune.

Clive is not wrong. How many winds at Wembley will be necessary to put the Wembley myth to bed? It's not Wembley, it's the lack of astrong enough bench to pursue success in both EPL and Champion's League. We don't have the second eleven players that the Mancs and Chelsea do.

Something like;
Vorm
Trippier
Dier
Foyth
Davies
Winks
Sissoko
Lamela
Oakley-Booth
Son
Llorente

Not particularly weak IMO. You be surprised how many players you've never heard of wouls make up the second team at City, Chelsea, Liverpool etc..

Clive talking bollox on TS just now.
Said theres no doubt everyone has stepped up their game against Spurs because its Wembley.
Really Clive? Really?
Because I saw the league champions camp in their own half and have 2 shots on target in the entire game. They were totally outplayed by us. Burnely camp in their own half for 91mins and Swansea also refuse to leave the goal area nevermind their half.
Hardly 'stepping up your game' is it?
As I said, bloke talks shite.
The only team who came to play lost 3.1

But we didn't win any of those games. If we had a stronger bench, might we have done?
