Federico Fazio should probably be a Tottenham Hotspur player by now. Sevilla's manager Unai Emery announced publicly at the end of last week that a transfer was close.

However, Sevilla have gone in the opposite direction and decided to make things difficult according to local newspaperEstadio Deportivo. They claim that the Spanish club have thrown all possible barriers in the way of the transfer being done quickly, which is why it isn't done yet, although they know it will happen eventually.

If true than Levy has just been Levyed.
Those who live by the sword die by the sword.

I'm not sure that is the truth; and even if it isn't, I'd like to remind Levy of an ancient Chinese adage: " Don't rig your sails to the maximum when the winds are behind you".

Or don't win a battle to lose the war.

So the transfer somehow reached the advanced stages, but the dark secret that Levy was the main man at Spurs was revealed and it all fell apart? Jeez.

I imagine there must be a grain of truth somewhere amongst all the hype but at the end money is money and Levy is the man who signs the cheques

A typical article from a sports website quoting a foreign newspaper article that in turn 'claims' to have an insight into what is actually a pretty straightforward buy-out transfer. If you have a look at the job 'vacancies' section on Sports Witness you will get a sense of the size of their (tiny) operation and the level of research (trawling overseas media) and commitment (freelance) they have.

Ridiculous premise. Big businesses don't make decisions out of spite -- if it works for Sevilla then they'll do it. I shan't cry if they don't though, being rather underwhelmed by what little I know of Fazio.
