New stadium

Since we last provided an update on the progress of the new stadium on 3 September, 2018, we have been working hard with the contractors involved in the critical safety systems.

all home games will be played at Wembley Stadium up to and including the game against Wolverhampton Wanderers on 29 December.

Financial Update

The Club continues to operate on a sensible financial basis in order to take a long-term view for the benefit of current as well as future generations of Tottenham Hotspur fans.

This is now becoming a proper piss take. The club should (but they won’t) refund in one lump sum the cost of the home games up to and including the wolves game. We are getting mugged off by them drip feeding the refunds.

I wouldn't go that far but it doesn't really make sense, surely it would be easier for them to do it one go.

Yeah it would be easier I agree, but that is a massive dent to the clubs cash flow and also interest earned on the money they hold onto - its for these reasons that I feel we are being mugged off. My refund for the 5 games is close to £400 (mine and my sons ST) that would be very handy in one hit into my account rather than spread out over the next 2 months. After all my money was taken for the STs in one hit from the club!

From what I hear, from a very trusted source who works at another PL club and who has worked for the FA, is that we will be at Wembley for the remainder of this season. The approach has already been made to the FA and the PL. Very frustrating if true.

I don't doubt the source, but when the club is contacting future opponents then there must be something to it.

So what if we don't move in til next season. I'm excited that our new home is nearly here! It's not the clubs fault it's taken longer than expected. The moaners will of course blame Levy etc. It was the most complex stadium build in European football history. I'm amazed there hasn't been more go wrong!

You would have been crucified if you had delivered this message just a few months back in the summer.
I doubt you'll get one disagree today.

I thought I was a hardened realist, in quietly dismissing the Liverpool target opening, but the 15 Dec rumour had me convinced. I'm so sold on that date, I still think the stadium could be ready by then and there is some other factor stopping us moving in. Maybe I'm in denial.

“The club continues to operate on a sensible financial basis in order to take a long term view for the benefit of present as well as future generations of Tottenham Hotspur fans “

Welll, I’m glad my great grand children will benefit. But that part of the statement hints in the direction of no signings again this winter. Let’s hope there are not deeper underlying financial issues that many have suggested. This whole stadium thing has been badly managed with constant reports that it is hugely over budget and unrealistic completion forecasts. Incidentally, are the contractors not being hit with huge financial penalties for these ever increasing delays or did Levy forget to include such clauses in the construction contract ?

think Dier has it 100% right.
As an aside it is tough for the players and coaching staff - proper respect for the job they have done the last season and a bit.
As for fans churning up social media with complaints....tosh

They might be contacting other clubs but that is just prudent.

I think the move being pushed to 2019 is sensible. If there were issues identified during the holiday period it would be much harder to rectify and with the volume of games during that time could be catastrophic.

Personally I think they are targetting the man utd game and being realistic about what they need to do, to get everything in order by that date.

It also means having a prestigious first game at home.

Bummed at the delays but it will be a memory soon and then we will have one amazing stadium.
