Yesterday - 20 April 2023 - Fabio Paratici was unsuccessful with an appeal against his Italian Football Federation (FIGC) ban on certain football related activities.

FIFA ruled to extend the ban worldwide and, whilst there continues to be a dispute as to the scope and extent of the ban, the current worldwide ban prevents Fabio from fulfilling his duties as our Managing Director of Football. Fabio has consequently taken the decision to resign from his position at the Club with immediate effect to focus on his legal position in respect of the FIGC and FIFA rulings.

….but a rare touch of class from the club in keeping him on until the appeal and then allowing him to resign.
More like, employment law prevented an unlawful sacking 'innocent until proven guilty' (appeal pending).

Now the appeal has been successful, Paratici leaves without a settlement and Levy can count the savings.

I reckon the whole search for a new manager is related to whether or not fabio was gonna still be at the club

I'm sure there's been plenty going on behind the scenes regardless of the Paratici situation. I just hope we get a Manager and DoF who are on the same page and can work together.

Allowing him to "resign" rather than the club announcing that they've terminated his contract is perhaps a touch of class, but the timing of this announcement (within 24 hours of his appeal being rejected) is not in the slightest bit coincidental. It's tied to employment laws / culpability for compensation.

If the club considered his position to be untenable irrespective of the outcome of the appeal (which is very possible), it would have made financial sense to wait for the appeal, in the hope that it's rejected and no compensation will need to be paid.
