No. I meant he hasn't degraded women or anything but he's embarrassed the club.
Don't agree that he has. Whoever made the link to porn has forced the club to apologise for something that shouldn't be anything. And that's the problem: if it truly is nothing then apologising for every little thing creates more need to apologise for nothing in the future. It feeds the appetite of those who go in search of things to create a problem over.

Could Swansea have just not commented at all and let it drift away? would it drift away? Instead they have (or just 'there is') publicity for something that wasn't worth the furore.

Basically people shoving things up their arses and women being cummed on.

Cheers.

I'm still struggling to see the connection from celebration -> yorkshireman -> shoving stuff up your arse -> cumming on women but it sounds like I'm better off not knowing! :D

I assume he knew full well what he was doing.

Are the people complaining about this mind readers?

I've literally no idea what he was doing or which website he's on about. People love being offended by everything. It's all social media's fault. It gives these people airtime for their petty opinions.

Problem is, it may not be genuinely offensive. But they probably don't want their players making porn related gestures, so now it's been flagged up (for whatever reason) they have to condemn/apologise for it.

I suppose people have to be less sensitive to other people taking offense. It's just a natural by-product of a more inter-connected world. Let them take offense, maybe one day you'll be offended by something?

Damn PC gone mad!!!! Not allowing our pro footballers to reference porn sites in their goal celebrations in front of millions, including children

Grrrr what can we do anymore 'feminists'?!?!?!

Now they're gonna say I can't just go round slapping arses, well you can't stop me because it's my freedom of speech!!!

As my wife was more than happy to point out - men appear in porn just as much as women.
In her words - who gives a flying fuck about a goal celebration and what it "might" reference.
It's just as likely it was a standard "holy shit, I'm wide eyed that I have just scored against Arsenal, and we might avoid relegation" celebration.
Way way way too much scrutinisation going on these days.

I actually hate people these days! Everyone gets offended by everything now! He celebrated a goal, that’s it, who cares haha!

I don't think you can be this blase about it to be honest.

If he'd done a Nazi salute presumably you wouldn't be saying 'he celebrated a goal...who cares' or 'who gives a fuck about a goal celebration'. I know this is nowhere near that sort of celebration, but it does show that you can't just brush it all under the carpet and say 'boys will be boys'.

Like it or not, these guys are watched by millions of people so they do have to be careful about what they do and say, and as others have said it's a fairly daft thing to do whilst in the shirt of your employer.

It would be roughly akin to me accepting an employee of the month award by saying in front of everyone "I'd like to dedicate this award to two girls one cup."

I think the Swansea response is over the top as it's not as if Clucas is celebrating the degradation of women/men/lemurs but you can see why they may be fairly fed up about it from a brand perspective.

I guess the issue with football is both the yobs and children go.

Kids love football and want a chance to see their favourite team play live.

Just like a parent generally doesn't allow young children to watch TV or films with excessive violence or foul language they wouldn't want their children exposed to some of the appalling chants that adult football fans find funny or their right to sing.

There will always be a handful of people like Walkerboy who thinks everything is PC gone mad most know there is a line and a debate to be had on what is acceptable.

Never heard of this porn site or gesture so no idea if it has gone over the line.

As Swansea will want young fans to attend so they can build a long-term fanbase it is understandable that they will condemn any actions like this.

Charlie Austin and Jack Stevens done this before celebrating a goal, how comes no-one picked up on it then?

I don't think this has much to do with political correctness. Swansea are a business with sponsors and commercial partners etc all of whom will be sensitive about their brands being damaged by association with a porn show.
