All those worried Dier wouldn't get a rest. No need, Poch surprised everyone again yesterday picking a team with 0 DMs in it at all! It turned out ok

Think this is the way to go. Having winks Eriksen Dele in a CM3 will create shit loads. Have son creating space for Kane and we should score a hatful

We can even go one ore notch attacking and go 4-3-3 rather then 5-3-2 when Lamela returns. City play 5 defensive and 5 attacking and we can also do the same

Alli had his best game this season for us yesterday. Unbelievable to think we played Liverpool with no defensively minded players and looked incredibly solid. Massive credit to Winks for the maturity of his performances and to the defense for being so solid to allow the 3 of CE, DA and HW to play infront of them.

We really need someone that can actually make things happen. As in create a chance ,surge into box or score a goal.

Dier/wanyama- good DMs but offer little going forward.
Dembele- Keeps the ball well but rarely assists never scores.
Winks- yes very neat and tidy, but if he plays you need someone beside him who will offer more.Imo winks is a pirlo xabi Alonso ball playing DM.
Sissoko- ok against lesser teams using pace and power. But doesn’t work against quality

The most likely to be this player amongst our ranks is dele.

If the Wanyama rumours are true what would you do? We are Defo short a body in CM can’t count on dier all season,or do we view winks as a DM now?either way we need another body.
1.bring back Onomah
2.blood TOB
3.barkley?
4.buy someone else?

I don't see us buying another on the back of this supposed season ending injury concerning Wanyama.

Onomah on loan, may make the grade when recalled, whether that be January or seasons end.

Wanyama, one would hope will recover at some point. Dier, Winks, Dembele can all play there, as can Alli, Foyth, Vertonghen at a push if I'm not mistaken.

Add to this Barkley is supposedly still on last I read somewhere on here, I certainly would be very surprised if we signed Barkley and another MFer ( no that's not mother fucker)

Side note. ..

Onomah on Sky today. Birmingham v Villa.

Be good to see how he fares in this Derby and tying in with the thread, whether he looks composed enough to potentially earn a January recall.

I don't know if the terms of Josh's loan deal allow us to recall but we obviously should if we can. Even if they don't i'm sure we could make it happen by offering other players to Villa on loan.

I also think Juan is born to play DM. He's confident on the ball and passes quickly and very accurately.

If we are considering strengthening our midfield in the January window I think Mario Lemina has been an outstanding signing for Southampton. They paid a club record fee for him in the summer so he won't come cheap but if we had to give them £40m I think it would be well worth it.

No way they'd sell him mid season and if they did it would be much more than that.

If they could triple the money they paid for him 4 months ago I think they would be sorely tempted. Sanchez has obviously been a great signing for us but if a club offered £150m for him in January do we really think Levy would say no?
