I know this may be slightly less glamorous than signing a new player, but the club have made a number of high profile signings this summer on its commercial side.

For some reason our commercial deals have piqued my interest, probably as I see it as the one area left where our rivals gain a substantial financial advantage over us. So I'm pleased to see we're addressing the issue. We already had deals in place with Nike, AIA and Leagoo and so far this summer we've signed deals with:

William Hill - Official betting partner for Europe and Australia
FUN88 - Official Betting Partner for Asia and Latin America
Hewlett Packard - Official IT Enterprise Networking Partner
Hotels.com - Official Accommodation Partner
Heineken - Official Beer Partner
EA Sports - Official Video Game Partner
IWC Schaffhaussen - Official Timing Partner
Audi - Official Car Partner
1XBET - Official Betting Partner for Africa
eToro - Official Online Trading Partner

When I look at the commercial partnerships of our rivals they still have many more than us, but it's a start. And I hope the club continue to sign new deals to close the financial gap. So whilst they may not be the sort of signings we wanted, they could play an important part in us being able to make the sort of signings we want.

Just thought it would be good to have a place to discuss our commercial business and keep track over the new deals we sign.

Seems that we are negotiating several new sponsor partnerships in an exciting season going into the new stadium with the scope to host NFL and other entertainment gigs. Stadium naming rights will be our big principal partner though, so let's hope we have some good prospects. Whilst it's nice to see all the new sponsors signing up, have a look at how many United have! Surely they are the example that every other team wants to follow in terms of sponsorship revenue https://www.manutd.com/en/partners

Agreed. Man Utd really are something when it comes to commercial partnerships and if we can sign even half the amount of deals they have we'll be doing well.

The club never tell us how much each one is worth though. They’re only good if we are getting a shed load of cash from each one.

Not sure if was spoken about here or on SSC and I think they are called “cornerstone” partners for stadium.Which is very big in America, where large areas of the stadium are given over to a certain sponsor. Sounds like Audi and Hotels.com are those sort of deals. Pure guess work but if these deals are worth £2-3m it may explain the need not to rush a main naming rights.

I doubt we'll ever know how much they are for individually but we'll know as a whole how much they bring in once the accounts for the relevant period are released.

Obviously the big one is going to be the stadium.

I wonder if the concerns about, and the subsequent delay has put potential sponsors off (in the short term anyhow)

Hasn't there been a few 'medical' partnerships signed over the last season or so as well? I seem to recall a performance drink one too

I know it almost goes hand in hand but it would be good if we could try to keep this thread separate from the naming rights tread in the new stadium section or they could end up getting merged.

There have, but these are listed as suppliers. They are:

Mammoth - Official Mattress and Pillow Supplier
Maurten - Official Sport Fuel Supplier
Healthspan - Official Vitamin and Supplement Supplier
Smartfish - Official Sports Nutrition Drink Supplier

We also have a host of Stadium suppliers which can be found here.

People will scoff at this stuff because we didn't sign anyone. But...it all adds up. The more revenue we can generate from extra curricular stuff, the more we have to play with for future business dealings.

Since about 2015 or 2016, Man Utd have actually generated more money from sponsorship and partnerships than they have from football related income (eg - gate receipts, broadcast revenue, prize money etc). That means that the main business of the club, the main product they produce, is not the football team itself but the access to the fans who come to watch it.

Now of course we're a long way behind Man Utd in terms of fan base and the opportunity to be had for a sponsor to reach our crowd, but it's good to see the club making an effort to catch up as we were miles behind previously. If you check United's website they have all sorts of bizarre sponsors, like official noodle partners and several different official credit card partners for several different specific Asian countries. They have something like an extra £200m in revenue on us from these sorts of streams, £200m of extra revenue for essentially not an awful lot of cost at our end would make a huge difference in the transfer market and wage negotiations if we were to use it.

Imagine if we even got a quarter of what Man Utd earn through theirs, it would be great for us each year.

Just to kind of keep things in perspective - I was reading this morning about how the club had set previous sponsorships to expire this year - to allow for a clean slate heading into the new stadium.

So, while it sounds good the Levy is locking in all these minor sponsors - these are not really ground-breaking deals, and are probably just a small bump over what Spurs had in place in previous years.

I know that we used to have an official clothing supplier, beer and betting partners, but other than that I think they are all new types of partnerships for the club. We never had a car, time, accommodation etc deals before.

United have their training ground, training kit sponsored, and we still don’t have a sleeve sponsor. The commercial team reallly should be pulling their finder out.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

As long as there's no window, ITK or meltdowns involved I'm up for it.
