The January transfer window is now closed and it showed exactly what Antonio Conte thought about some of the big names in his Tottenham squad.

Needed doing. Hopefully we're now in a much better position to go for it in summer. Hopefully we have enough to push for top 4, especially since It's, Arsenal, WHU etc did nothing.

It's not brutal. It's a reality check and pragmatism.

The team also needs a change in mentality and culture. That can only happen with strong leadership, new faces and existing staff towing the line. No different in any walk of life really. To change, some of the existing faces needed to move on to new pastures. Where it may well work out brilliantly for them.

There's still a lot of variables with regards to Ndombele and Locelso though. But the club is, in my opinion, headed In the correct direction.

Rome wasn't built in a day etc.

Not perfect but a solid window albeit I wish it wasn't left till the last day, it has needed to be done for a long while now, some players got a little to comfy.

Really happy with the two that have joined, being at Juve you learn professionalism, work ethic, pride etc so I'm hoping they will hit the ground running and further motivate the players we have already that seem to have bought in to Conte and are trying.
The summer will be the big window though to continue the overhaul.

Good luck to Dele and I hope Tanguy & Lo Celso can rediscover themselves & put themselves firmly in the shop window as their sales will add to the coffers.

Levy will be more than happy with a smaller squad now we are involved in less competitions.
He won't be happy with Dele going on a free. That's a bit mad.

If paratici turns the loans into decent fees in the summer, Levy will be delighted overall.

The outgoings are hugely important because they indicate a mentality shift is being instigated. Consistent underperformance, and obvious displays of casual indifference, have been tolerated for far too long. This happened because Levy refused to shift people on or consider a squad regeneration when it was recommended by a manager far more qualified to make that judgement. He enabled 'player power'.

We need far better recruitment than has been the case for about 4 years. I'd say the jury is still out on Paratici in this regard and he (as much as anyone) needs Kulusevski and Bentancur to work out as regular first teamers.

Conte has mentioned several times how far we've fallen since his last stint in the Premier League. It's obvious to everyone. Our attitude and recruitment has to improve to get back to where we were.
