Obafemi doing interviews after the game still draped in his shirt for fear of losing it. Good lad. One of the few reasons to smile for Irish football fans right now.

And Royheadbanger too !

Twitchy is out of Europe at the mo. Get someone else in quick.
Two goals from eight games? I wouldn’t be completely against Redknapp actually. Obviously Niko, Crouch and Defoe aren’t getting called up though.

McCarthy would be my first choice. We have to write off the next few years and blood some youngsters. He did that after Jack.

I wish I could say this will herald a new era of exciting attacking football, but unlikely with the pool of players available to us.

It's the right move though, we were going nowhere fast under O'Neill. The football was painful to watch.

I missed the whole game the other night as I couldn’t get the kids to sleep and I was grateful. Maybe I should have just made them watch it. But I’ve been watching as many games as I could since the days of having a ‘dental appointment’ when Lansdowne Road has no floodlights and games were on in the middle of the day and it should pain me to miss them.

I intentionally missed it. Not for the first time recently either. Moving house was a greater priority.

Tongue in cheek. Harry's been over here quite a bit lately. There's a lot worse.

In the meanwhile MON will be doing a lot of bitching no doubt.

Stephen Kenny could be a good shout. Young, fresh ideas and has done good things with Dundalk, even at a higher level than LOI in Europe too.

I’d prefer he got involved with the u21s and was groomed for greater things. Ideally part time as otherwise I think it could actually be a step down for him. If he could bring through the next generation (dare I say it, Southgate-style) then we would be building on more solid foundations. Stick him in charge now of the current mediocre squad and he’d be doing really well to impress. Let McCarthy or Redknapp weather the storm, steady the ship and then hand it over further down the line.

McCarthy appointed until after Euro 2020, then Kenny to take over.

Good for them to get Kenny in the setup already, means there's no chance of him being offered a better club job in the next two years. Could've become an issue if he kept managing and having success with Dundalk and then someone like Celtic or a lower Prem/upper Champ club came calling.
