Agree, VVD is more of a ‘positional’ defender. Similar in style to how King used to be where he’s always in the right place, deceptively quick and shepherds players away from danger rather than diving in. Whereas Romero is far more ‘front-foot’ and physical, good at reading play and nipping in for interceptions.

Dier is far more of a VVD style defender in that he’s all about the shape of the team (though not at the same level just yet)

VVD could be the best defender ever, 6ft 5 rapid, good with the ball, reads the game well, great one vs one he is unbelievable.
