I got Peter Crouch's autobiography for Xmas and theres a bit in there where he talks about Ledley King and how at a very young age there was never a player more geared to become a pro footballer than Ledders.
The interesting bit that caught my eye was where he says that the England U18's went to play a game in Spain, and not many people know but Real Madrid must have been watching and as they soon after approached Spurs about signing King. :eek:mg:

*Says it all I guess.*

They can have in the transfer window for £30million plus robinho, sneijder and diarra. Oh and Cannavaro as our experienced CB.

So really he's not for sale.

I wouldn't sell Ledley for anything. They could offer their entire team in exchange for Ledley and I wouldn't take it.

Let's not make this thread into some kind of bizarre bargaining forum.

King's been quality ever since his debut - I remember his home debut on Sky- we beat Pool and we had some ropey players that day - but Leds just waltzed it - When Sherwood gave him the MOTM he said something like - 'you were panicking out there today Leds'

I don't think Sherwood and a lot of others could believe how calm the King was

Ledley actually made his debut at Anfield, coming on with us 2-0 up, and leaving at full time 3-2 down

He (and Alton Thelwell) did both play as youngsters in the 2-1 win you're on about though

I hate it when people ask me about how good Ledley King is, because I come across as really bias! In my honest opinion, as level headed as i can be, I believe if he was always fit, he's the best defender in europe.
