Why do we spend so long drawing out Palace, passing it around at the back to make some room to pass the ball about, then lump it over the top to no-one so often?

It's tactical. We've been like it for years. Patient, low tempo, short passing working the ball from side to side, backwards, forwards etc. Poch wants us to be able to emulate Guardiola's Barca. The problem is they had Xavi and Iniesta in midfield and a certain Messi in the front three.....
