He didn't even appeal for it. Obviously he should have just booted Hennessey in the face but then it would be "showing his nasty side". He literally can't win

I was referring to the penalty we should have got for the keepers foul on Davies. I actually missed the Dele incident.

Aurier is a huge let down so far. Lets hope Poch's magic touch with full backs works on him too.

I think Davies’ crossing is pretty good, although he does have a knack of hitting the first man quite frequently. When he’s unopposed or gets it past that player, his delivery is miles ahead of Aurier’s.

Glad we won. It was... "one of those" matches where u can smell us not only not getting a goal... but lose the match to an amazing skill or screammer from outside the box.

We should have had a comfortable win. 3, 4 or even 5 goals. We need to take our chances. Let's hope it's a once off.

Bit harsh on Davies. He's played some quality balls in this season.

5 assists in 22 prem appearances, and of course chances created to factor in on top.

Lads stepped in and is doing all that is asked of him. Off form today, maybe. But on the whole it's a big fat...good on yer son from me. (y)
Davies was not nearly as bad as being made out. His ball that Aurier somehow the tap in too

Davies is quietly having a very good season. Absolutely delighted with how hes stepped up tbh and thats coming from someone that was certainly very critical of him in the past.

Can't work out if this is an Aurier thread, a Davies thread, a Rose thread, a Sess thread or just a complete clutterf*ck

Again we are FC Barcelona when it comes to creating chances but then FC Banterlona in front of goal.

Some lessons need to be learned from this or it will cost us down the line.

That's some real insightful stuff.....:shifty:
What lessons are we to learn from this??
Its difficult to break down a team that sits really deep?
Need to score goals in order to win games?

We did score, we did win!
Maybe you mean we need to learn to do what we did today again and again, as we won?!

Hindsight's a wonderful thing when you can just go back and slag people off for posting things that didn't turn out right, right?
NG, was this for me? I didn't slag anyone off for earlier comments at all. I was having a right moan the whole time.

There aren’t many of them in the world i’m afraid. As much as the pundits used to harp on about Walker/Rose being the best full backs in the league neither of them can cross.

Only team in the world who have good quality fast fullbacks who can cross and can defend are Madrid

Nah, wasn't at you. The same tedious clique who wait till the end of a match then go through the thread slating anyone who said anything negative during the game, as if you're not allowed to have emotions during a football match.

Emotions my fucking great big hairy arse :D

It's a piss poor poxy excuse because it's made by the same people time after time after fucking time, strangely, these so called "emotions" are rarely positive. THERE'S your tedious clique.

Rochdale, the Newport replay, Arsenal, West Ham to name a few where we were extremely casual and careless in front of goal.

We should have scored a lot more goals than we actually did in those games and the same applies today. If Palace had gone up the other end and scored at the end (like Rochdale actually did) then we would have had no one else to blame but ourselves for not sticking those chances away and getting a comfortable lead in the first place.

It's an area of improvement for us and we have to learn to be more ruthless. That's what we need to be better at if we want to get to the very top.

We can never be perfect but we can be better, you have to make the dominance count. Eventually if we continue to be this casual with our chances it will cost us.

It is brilliant that we are dominating games and creating chances, but the fact we are not converting the majority of them is a slight worry for me. I'm not going to let the fact that we won the game cloud the fact that we were poor in front of goal.

But that just makes it sound like we aren't trying to score?!
The other way to look at it is: we kept knocking at the door and eventually broke through to win the game.

I can kind of understand what you're saying with your gripe about not scoring more, but there will always be patches like this in a season - we should, imo, be chuffed that we got the goal to win the game. As opposed to lamenting nearly not winning it, which seems completely pointless and a little confusing.

First off i'm pleased we got the win and 3 points that were deserved.

BUT!!

The tempo from some our players was shocking. I see Dier getting some praise, but Sanchez and Dier are to blame a lot for this, the amount of times they had the ball at their feet and just slowed the game to a standstill was so frustrating. Countless times I quick pass or one two was on with a CM and they just chose to go backwards or play it to themselves, it was bizarre, with no drive to actually push forward themselves..... Maybe i'm making this all up, but it was really starting to frustrate me.

I'm not quite sure if Wanyama is broken since his injury, but please get up to speed soon. Woeful few games for us now.

Why Lamela was taken off when Eriksen and Ali were worse than him was disappointing from Poch. Lamela wasn't having the best game, but Eriksen was woeful by his standards, and Dele didn't really do anything all game. Yet the two favourites stay on, they should have both been replaced around the 65 mark for Son and Lucas.

All in all these away games at teams near the bottom, with the season coming to an end will always be tough. We do need to become more lethal in front of goal though as we seem to enjoy putting so much pressure on ourselves.

Big call..... I truly believe Foyth will be the better CB out of him and Sanchez. I know Sanchez gets a lot of praise on here and i think he has done well, but the superlatives he receives are way over the top.
