Nothing "Lucky" about it. Apart from the penalties we should have had, we completely dominated. We kept trying and got the break through. That isn't luck.
I agree I don’t think we were “lucky” to win. But we didn’t play well, and against a bad team, I would hate to have seen Aurier up against a better team at the moment he just looks like a mistake waiting to happen. This was a good match for verts to be out, Dier had very little to do. I hope to see Trippier in for Juventus game. And hope Verts is fit. Also hope Toby can make Rochdale game.
You would hope our performance levels go up in both games. But the way we played today against lesser opposition I would wonder how we will turn up and play against Rochdale. If Rochdale had any sense they would sit back and frustrate us, but they probably won’t they will go for it and that should play into our hands.
Anyway great 3 points but below par performance from all the team in my opinion

Come on, that's really not a valid argument against Eriksen being terrible today. Most people also comment on how they would rather he wouldn't take corners as he isn't particularly great at them.

Obviously we won't know the result if Lamela stayed on with Lucas and Son. But it was extremely harsh him being subbed, when Eriksen and Dele offered little and were wasteful all game. Prior to the goal.

Eriksen and Dele offered more than Lamela who didn’t do much all game. Lamela was a non factor and we looked better when he went off. We won’t know the result if Lamela stayed on, but there is a reason why he didn’t. There was zero reason for him to stay on when he offered so little of a threat.

Disagree. Part of the problem was how narrow we were when playing out of the back. Lamela and Dele were on pockets buy were not offering clear passing lanes. Some of yhat was due CPs setup. Son and Mora created space which opened things up.

Aurier was poor and has had dogs abuse. His only redemption was a goal saving tackle.
Kane was poor but is still the hero. His redemption was to nod in a sitter.
Funny old game as Greavsie would say.

Wasn't really a sitter to me.

Probably not in all honesty but I was just making the point that Aurier had a bad game with several mistakes and so did Kane with a few misses and poor options. Kane redeemed himself in everybody's eyes seemingly with his goal, whereas Aurier's fantastic tackle to prevent an almost certain goal did nothing to deflect the barrage of abuse he's received.

I get your point but it's not comparing like-for-like.

One of these two plays out of his skin on a regular basis and has plenty of amazing performances in the bank, whilst the other is yet to find his desired level and has struggled in several matches.
