Just seen the highlights... reminded me (again) of Man Utd's mad run of late wins in the mid 90's, continually battering at defences until a spot of magic from Cantona won it for them. For us, read Christian Eriksen. This boy has been quietly getting on with being our best player for a few seasons now, but this season he's taken it to the next level. With that pass on Saturday, and that finish last night, he's playing like Iniesta right now. No wonder those Barca rumours won't go away.

I'm well proud of our team after last night. It would have been easy to be deflated after Saturday, and let the heads drop, and the mind wander during Palace's early in roads. But you can see what Poch has fixed this season... the mentality, the strength of character and of will; what he's calling the "changing of the club's culture". Particularly against this Allardyce team that has been making life miserable for all and sundry who play them... including the current champions elect.

Bring on the Gooners and Sunday's historic match... good times are just around the corner.

And not a mention in the BBC report
of the injury to and substitution of Dembele
only of 'influential defender Mamadou Sakho.'

Poch:
“We know what Arsenal means, this game, for our fans. But we are not thinking about being above Arsenal. Our challenge now is to try and reduce the gap to Chelsea again and think about bigger things than only to be above Arsenal. To win big trophies and achieve big things, your mentality must be bigger than that. You must think about bigger dreams. Big dreams. It’s important to have them.”

All fucking day.

The media will be doing all they can to build this up as the game where we can win to finish above them and we can't get distracted by it. Besides all it will do will be to gee up the Arsenal players, as if not beating us in the last NLD at WHL won't be enough motivation.

I just really hope we run them off the park on Sunday. And by that I don't mean I think it will definitely be easy but I just hope we hassle the fuck out of them, give them no time on the ball like we did with Man City at home and just be on them in a flash. They're not gonna like being hassled at all.

All attention will be on Sky's #WengerOut obsession.

The narrative of this game should be the history of the fixture... last ever NLD at one of England's oldest football grounds.

I agree but I think last night was a very tiring game. Let's hope it hasn't taken too much out of us. I think we will be full of beans but am concerned the West Ham game following on quickly might be an intense game too far. But we shall see.

NLD at home is enough for the boys to get themselves up for. Especially if Everton get something minutes before.

Yeah it would be lovely if we had a weeks rest. Hopefully like someone else said the occasion will fuel the players enough!
