It seemed that the club's failure to match Manchester City's offer of £60,000-a-week had cost them and it did much to make Berbatov consider his future lay elsewhere.

Bollocks. None of the quotes in the article support that.

I'm sure Berbatov could understand that we weren't going to pay Petrov more than Berba himself was earning and could surely respect that decision. If they were that desperate to play together then Petrov would have surely taken the lower wage to be at the 5th best team in England (at the time) and playing alongside his "best friend".

actualy the wage mentioned is the only wrong thing in the article , Petrov wage is 22000 not 60000 , he said in many time in front of Bulgarian Tv. He said that his wage in Manchester City is 22000 and Spurs only offered half of that = 11000. !

Let's face it - if Petrov really wanted to play at the same club as Berba, he'd be here, regardless of the money.

The only purpose of this article is for nothing more than irritating Spurs fans.

I read this in the evening standard and I thought it was poor journalism.
It's the quarter final and all they could come up with is this rehashed rubbish.

Time to move on guys.

Petrov's at Man Shitty and that's that. And while they are doing well all is rosy, but wait until their form tails off which it undoubtedly will during this season. then we'll see how joyous Petrov is to be there.
