Linked in today's ITK from Trix...

FWIW the "Deja vu well nearly" line was actually a bit of a cryptic being that we had signed a player of the same name and nationality before. Usually I just post the players I'm hearing straight out, but as his name hasn't been mentioned anywhere else, I was a bit reluctant to do so. As it is I have heard his name from two separate places now, albeit both from agents and so it's not necessarily anything more than a ploy to get the player a new contract or to drum up interest elsewhere.

I get that by posting this it could well start the guessing all over again so for clarity sake, and to avoid another shut down of the thread, I'll throw his name in. The player I was referencing is Danni Ceballos from Real Madrid.

I've seen Ceballos live twice during last years Euro Under-21 in Poland. Showed potential and he was one of the best players on the pitch in both games. More Eriksen than Dele though.

Not his biggest fan, but there is a good player in there and I’d certainly take him over Gomes or Corndogbia or anyone else we’ve actually been linked to at CM this window.

I have no idea how good he is, have not seen him much at all.

Did the usual youtube round and was not inpressad but as always Youtube says nothing.

Curious how much Modric would go for even at his age.
He's such an influential player & looks like he could play for many more years.

I love our focus on developing exciting talents. However, if there is one spot on the team for a experienced player, a CM would be it.

Indeed. Never really relied on pace, but has an almost superhuman footballing brain. The bloke oozes class and would totally transform our midfield.

Both Modric and Thiago seems to be on the market. We should be all over that.

Not really he just said he regretted how he left is and still follows how we are doing. I don’t think Jen has issued a com get me plea.

Said in the itk thread, this is the most excited I’ve been about a CM link. Very reminiscent of a young Modric or iniesta when he was at Betis. Perfect as the creator in a 433.

I don’t know much about this guy, tbh, I’ve seen a YouTube reel, and he seems more like a proper no.10 - ie, more VdV, than Dele or Eriksen.

With the lack of actual CM’s we’re being linked to, and the amount of more attacking players, I really do think that Poch is struggling to work out what to do. I bet if there was that CM he wanted that was achievable, he’d prefer it, but as it is, he’s heavily considering Dele and Eriksen in the deeper roles. I hope he knows how to get that working, cos it didn’t really happen for Dele there during The World Cup - although he has the engine to play that role.

Having watched this I'm not impressed. Would rather have Grealish and stick him in the CM role. Ceballos is not any better than Dembele, particularly concerning pace, strength and finishing. If dribbling is all he's got, I don't want him in our team. We need a qualified playmaker. Onions.

Exactly what we need imo. Can’t always rely on Eriksen all the time.
