We aren't desperate enough to be taking a straight loan. Completely pointless when we've got a decent amount of midfield depth and plenty of our own talent.

Like Saliba, I’m really not fussed about this.

Poch wants players who are committed to playing for Spurs. If Ceballos has told Poch he’s essentially using us to get Zidane’s attention, I’m glad we’ve told him where to shove it.

There seems to be a lot of disappointment in here at the thought of not getting Cellabos.
Is he really that good?
I'm really not that bothered if we get him or not because I'm not convinced he's what we need. I'd much rather keep playing Winks who's a similar player by all accounts, and he's homegrown and English which is something we've always prided ourselves on, having a good core of young English players!
Let's tie up Lo Celso bring in Sessegnon and then maybe try and develop some young players we already have.

But then there's the squad depth conundrum! So maybe we should.....ah I dunno.
This transfer window is confusing the hell outta me!
He's essentially a Ramsey replacement for them, that's all. If we consider that Ramsey was very accustomed to the league and scored a lot of important goals, it's not a great replacement either. I know it comes across as bitter but I think he'd have a much better platform to shine at Tottenham than them, simply because he's playing with Xhaka, Guendozi, Torreira (decent to be fair) and Ozil, whereas with us he'd have Ndombele, Sissoko, Winks, Eriksen/Lo Celso around him - a much more solid base.

I rate Ceballos and still want him at the club but I think he'd be a cog in the machine here, someone who helps us tick but isn't the reason we tick. If we add Lo Celso to Ndombele and keep Eriksen then we are still better off.

If Eriksen goes then we will probably need a replacement.

Exactly fellas. He looked good at the u21s....so what. Many players have looked good at u21 level and not had great careers. I know his opportunities were limited but he wasn't exactly ripping it up at Real.
If he goes to arsenal let's see how he does against men.

Of course Arsenal fans will have the last laugh, but if they were honest, they'd realise he's signing for them because they are a shite team so he'll play more.

Dani Ceballos: Arsenal to complete loan move once Zinedine Zidane approves deal

Arsenal are waiting for Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane to approve a loan deal for midfielder Dani Ceballos, Sky Sports News understands.

Sky Sports News reported that Spurs were in talks with Real over a permanent deal, but the club and player prefer the Gunners' loan proposal, with the deal expected to be completed with Zidane's blessing.

The proposed loan deal suits Arsenal from a financial perspective, allowing them to focus their funds on other targets.

Real Madrid, who initially wanted to sell the player, are now also keen on a temporary deal following the midfielder's impressive displays at the European U21 Championships.

Ceballos himself believes he has a future at the Santiago Bernabeu and Sky Sports News understands he prefers a move to Arsenal, rather than Tottenham, because of the prospect of more first-team chances.

It’s a shame we couldn’t negotiate an option to buy because I personally see that as the only way we were likely to end the window with the 2 playmaker types that we need.

Despite what had been hinted at I don’t see a situation where we spend big on another creative AM without the sale of Eriksen.

Get LoCelso signed up and I'm not at all bothered about Ceballos. We'll have plenty of options, especially if Eriksen doesn't get his move.

If Arsenal fans want to see borrowing a player for a year as getting one over us then let them have it. Can't blame the club at all for refusing to deal on those terms. It's a very short term approach.

That reads to me as "because Arsenal aren't as good as Tottenham"

But Rafa commited to us on a permanent deal.

Bizarre one for Arsen*l, doesn't address anything they're lacking; fight, leadership, defence etc.
And the better he does there the less chance they have of keeping him.

and If he does badly they could probably get him but won't want him. :wacky: (assuming it is loan with no option)

When he comes up against Ndombele and Sissoko in the NLD he’s going to realise he fucked up.

Then Foyth will probably go and two-foot him knee high
