Fucking LOL at the Woolwich fans all over the socials giving it large about beating us to to this guy.

They're loaning a player for one season to develop him for Madrid. They're basically the Vitesse Arnhem of the PL. We signed one of the best, if not the best, young midfielders in the world permanently. The levels.
To be fair many of our fans were doing the same when the news broke about Saliba and our interest.

As would we

It's not out of the question they'll end up keeping him. I'm far from delighted that, whatever the player's long term intentions, they're getting a very talented CM that we clearly would (albeit on a permanent basis) have wanted.

Honestly, if Arsenal loaning a Madrid player for one season and buying a CB prospect that can’t help their cause for another 12 months is seen as a win for them then I’m fine with that.

They've committed to a deal that we wouldn't sanction. If he does well, Madrid will have him straight back and if he doesn't they've gained nothing. I don't think he wants to be in England at all by the sound of it but has been pushed this way by Madrid. It's a crap deal for Arsenal and I'm glad we passed up on it. If their muppet fans think it's some kind of victory it shows how far they've sunk IMO.

Imagine if he does reasonably well, Madrid still don’t want him next summer and then we swoop in and buy him. Now THAT would be funny!

Arsenal will hope that at the end of the season Madrid still won't want him and he'll have settled at the Emirates and sign permanently, they might be successful and fair enough if they are, mind you it will tell us a lot about that club if he doesn't sign for them in that scenario.
I guess we just wouldn't bend over like they are willing to do.

Would be even funnier if Lyon nipped in and took him to replace Fekir who's replacing LoCelso who's coming to us.

I don't mind if Arsenal fans celebrate beating us to this and the Saliba signings. I would do it if I used social media. I don't because I'm gangsta :)
I just hope this kid isn't all that, and he doesn't propel them to something this season. Sometimes all you need is one player and everything ticks.

They're loaning him back though? So he wont propel them to anything this season.

Arsenal are set to pay Dani Ceballos' entire salary while he spends the season on loan from Real Madrid.

This right here just shows how desperate they are to keep up this season. Paying full wages for a player that will return to his Parent club, whilst probably paying a loan fee is one of the worst investments a club could make.

Yet they probably wouldn't have needed to as we already pulled out because we don't do meaningless loans, quite desperate by the look of it.

We've pulled out of this deal and Saliva because both arrangements weren't right for us by the sound of it. They don't sort out their defence this year and the playmaker wants a year to prove himself at Madrid.

Let the sniffling gooner hordes gorge on the scraps we are throwing them, it's not like they've got much to be happy about right now ?

I'm talking about Ceballos. I could be wrong but I doubt Saliba will be ready for a few seasons. That's just based on age, this guy could be another De Ligt and be ready at 19-20

Ah I'm actually used to it, been following for years lurking in the shadows and peeping round the curtains, but now I've decided to put (proverbial) pen to paper and jump head first into the misery while the waters still warm.
It's a rush!

in a months time it will be like a rash:whistle:

to keep him after they would most probably have to get CL footy, if they don't they will be in bigger shit than they are now.

what would be funny is he has a good season, but not good enough to get them a CL place, and not good enough for RM to say "okay come back", they then sell him to us because Arsenal can't afford him, and he doesn't enjoy Thursday night football

This is all part of Levy's plan to let Ceballos prove himself in the PL next season at Arsenal and then be sold to us permanently after Arsenal are unable to buy him when they finish outside of the top 6.

if Lo Celso or a suitable alternative doesn't sign, this transfer window is a failure

Find it always useful to completely write off a season based on transfer window performance. Like when 6 weeks ago I went to Madrid to see my Spurs in a Champions League Final.

(It’s admittedly a cheap shot, but then again so am I.)
