Defender keen on Tottenham move

Espanyol defender Daniel Jarque has admitted that he would welcome a move to England amid reported interest from Tottenham Hotspur.
Juande Ramos reportedly attempted to sign him during his time in charge of Sevilla, and the Spurs boss could be set to make a fresh bid for the 24-year-old. "I know Ramos and I know he is an excellent coach. As a player, you only want to progress but going to England would be a great move," he told the Daily Mirror.

How do you pronounce his surname? Like saying Jack in a ridiculously posh accent?

Played in the UEFA final last year, played quite well from what I remember but I wasn't really watching him so I could be wrong.

Juande's Dani boy

SPURS boss Juande Ramos wants to build a new-look defence around 24-year-old Espanyol defender Dani Jarque.

The £8million-rated star has been named on a list of central defenders that Ramos has given his new director of football Damien Comolli.
Ramos wanted to sign Jarque last season but was overruled by his sporting director at Seville, who preferred Colombian defender Aquivaldo Mosquera

Now he sees the chance to land the classy Catalan, who has already played more than 150 games for Espanyol. Spurs could also bolster their midfield with ex-Chelsea star Sam Dalla Bona.
The 26-year-old, now at Napoli, is a long-term target and his people say he would consider a return to London.

His agent Claudio Pasqualin said: "Samuele remains at the disposal of the coach but we will consider his situation as there are clubs interested in him, like Tottenham, who have rated him for years."
Dalla Bona left Chelsea in 2002 to join Milan, where he made just nine appearances.
