Can't see where you get he isn't that good from. He's strong, good in the air versatile, has excellent technique and is a fantastic finisher

He did play on a very regular basis until AVB went and the reason he lost his place was probably down to the fact he's not as functional as Kalou. AVB played him wide and he's a centre forward.

He isn't strong, good in the air or a good finisher. Got some good skills though.

If we played him as a Striker then i'd be all over this
Do you think he would do well leading the line ahead of VdV?

Do you think he would be a better option than Ade?

Do you think he is the best option for our loan striker we can get?

If not do you think he is worth changing our shape for and if so how would you change the formation to accommodate him best?

Or if not do you think he would come in willing to be second or third choice and happy to fight for his place?

What type of a wage do you think he is on baring in mind he's played for Man City and Chelsea?

Basically we wouldn't be able to use him as a lone striker and he doesn't want to play as a wing forward. Might as well keep Defoe and not bother with speaking to clubs like chelsea.

How comes?

He's 6 foot plus, has a good physical build and is pacey.

He's also still young and with good coaching should be able to be developed further.

He's on big money:

Allegedly £60kpw when he left Shitty for the Chavs, and possibly more now. The Daily Fail claims he was negotiating a £90kpw deal when he was playing regularly under AVB.

Very promising in flashes. However, I don't think he could play the lone striker role, and he doesn't track back much or close down opponents like Rafa VDV.

So, at the moment he's a luxury player. But if starts working harder, as part of a team, then he is talented.

A good player, but I can't see Chelsea letting their young English striker go. And if they do he won't be cheap. Especially if it's us who do the bidding.

I'd love to be proved wrong. He has a lot of potential. Lacks a bit of strength on the ball to play the role atm imo.

Sturridge was apparently moaning about playing wide in a 4-3-3 earlier in the season, saying he wanted to play as the central striker instead. Hence I can't see him taking up a Bale role.
To be honest I think he's a very promising player, but he seems pretty selfish on the pitch and a bit of a brat off it.

TBH I haven't watch too many Chelsea games this season to rate him, but the few I've seen him play - he looks decent as a right winger.

But let's be honest, no one could ever replace Bale.:)

Sturridge is overrated imo. If he goes back to Citeh, we should try to get Adam Johnson instead.

Seen him miss a load of good chances, but suppose he is young and will probably improve. Doesn't excite me to be honest.

See that it's been reported than AVB would be keen on him. Surely can't cost that much seeing as he only has a year left on his contract.

Lazy journalism I think. AVB played him often for Chelsea, rather surprisingly considering who he left out. He is now seemingly on the outside looking in, AVB roles up to take charge of Tottenham....hey presto, we have a link lets run this!!!

Wouldn't be against it if it's financially viable,
transfer fee shouldn't be too high, but I fear his wages.

What I'd like about having him in the squad is (if AVB is the manager)
that he can play both as a striker and out wide.
Ability to fill more than one position goes a long way to keep everyone match fit and happy.

Sturridge and Remy would be good signings for our front line.
