Arnaut Danjuma has given his honest reflections and gratitude to supporters following our final game of the season, as we rounded off the campaign with a 4-1 win over Leeds United on Sunday.

He must have been expecting more than 198 minutes of playing time (spread across 12 substitute appearances and only 1 start).

It was an odd signing, because we generally looked more threatening in possession when he was on the pitch, yet three consecutive managers seemed reluctant to utilise him. I feel he could at the very least have been subbed on much earlier at times. Makes me wonder if there was an obligation to buy clause linked to minutes played.

As well as scoring a goal every 99 minutes in a Spurs shirt, his movement / runs off the ball (pulling defenders out of position) created space that directly contributed to 2 or 3 late goals by teammates. I don't think he's at the level we should be aspiring for in our starting line-up, so I don't mind us not signing him permanently, but it was frustrating to see us persevering with attacking players who were struggling for form / fitness.

I largely agree with this. But I'd also say it's hard to judge some of our newer signings due to Conte.

If you'd only seen Bissouma under Conte, you'd think he was a waste of money. Turns out, as we all suspected, he's still a great player, just diminished during the Conte reign.

Same for Richarlison. He's a good player. Injuries haven't helped either, but Conte totally failed to get the best out of him.

Danjuma did really well in La Liga and Europe last season. With some proper coaching from a manager who actually wants to be brave and attack, maybe he'll show more quality.

It's whether that "maybe" is worth the asking price...and whether he fits into the plans of our new manager. I certainly can't see him agreeing to sign permanently without strong assurances that he'd have a more significant role next season, so he may well have decided to return to Spain without even giving us the choice.

WHY the f..k are we doing this when we don't even have a manager in situ. Potentially a very good prospect for a reasonable price.
This club is ????????????????????????????????
