He was fired up as he was being wound up by the Stoke boos. I think it should have been possible for Dawson to talk some sense into him after the push, but taking him off did make sense. I didnt like his reaction after he realised he was being taken off and I was annoyed that he went down the tunnel but I later realised he was sent down by Sherwood. That chalenge on him that got the reaction should have been a yellow for the Stoke player too, but as the rule goes I thought he could have been sent off. Thought the ref did well not to be influenced despite the Mark Hughes dissatisfation.

I can't remember a player ever getting sent off for a push in the chest? It happens all the time and is normally a yellow card, the Stoke crowd got to him, these are the same orcs who were booing the gooner Ramsey when he had his leg broken by Shawcross and have booed him every time they've played since.

I was amazed the Stoke player was let off with nothing. Not even a booking. It was cynical and calculated to take Rose out. They sensed a weakness and went for it.

Football is weird in that the retaliation is often worse than the original offence. Should be yellows for both and told to grow up.
