You're not allowed talk shit about the club when you're contracted to them, it's pretty simple Danny. Much like you. Not in the mood for listening to your waffle at the moment, although you may be right.

There's more than a slight difference between:

1) A current first-team player slagging off recently recruited colleagues by saying he had to Google them because they were so obscure - during a period when he had also been vocal about being "open" to leaving (while under contract).

and

2) The club Chairman stating something very factual, with far more ambiguity (and therefore professionalism) about which signings he meant, and only after the failed signings have been sold / loaned out (i.e. not demoralising current first-team players).
"We have felt, and continue to feel, the financial impact of supporting player purchases which have not worked out as planned. We have taken steps to improve this area of operations and we believe the recent transfer windows reflect this."

The fact that Danny Rose can't understand the difference just goes to show why he became such a negative personality within the squad.

For context, when Rose made his Google comment, our most recent signings had been:
Sissoko - joined from a PL team, shortly after being a key player for France at Euro 2016 and putting in a stand-out performance against us.
Wanyama - joined from a PL team and had a fantastic season for us prior to Rose's comments.
Janssen - a little less well-known in England, but was a young CF signed off the back of being top scorer in the Eredevisie with 27 goals in 34 games and winning 'Dutch Player of the Year'.
Nkoudou - the only signing who perhaps warranted Rose's criticism, but even he was a regular starter for Marseille. During the same period, Man City and Chelsea paid big money for Mendy (featured less for Marseille than Nkoudou during 2015-16) and Batshauyi (only played a few more games for Marseille than Nkoudou).
We'd signed Alderweireld (a La Liga winner + CL runner-up) and Son (Asian Player of the Year at the time of signing) a year earlier - two of the club's best signings in the PL era.
Which of these required googling? Most of them had achieved more prior to signing for Spurs than Danny Rose has achieved in his entire career. Also, unlike Danny, none of them are currently free agents. 🤷‍♂️
