Tottenham's 18-year-old midfielder Danny Rose has joined Watford on loan for the rest of the season. Rose joined Spurs from Leeds United at the start of last season.
"Danny was a boy I was aware of from his time at Elland Road," Watford manager Brendan Rogers told the Hornets' website.
"He has got a big talent. He has been injured for a while but we have taken him to have a look at him, with a view to next season as well."
He added: "He has good energy and real intelligence with the ball. Technically he's a good player but he also has commitment and it's very important that players have that."
A regular for the reserves at White Hart Lane, Rose made the first-team bench for the visit of Sunderland in January 2008 and represented England at Under-18 level three months later, but his subsequent progress has been hampered by injury.
Rodgers is also interested in Estonian international defender Andrei Stepanov, currently on trial at the club.
"We are having a look for a couple of days with a view to something between now and the end of the season to provide cover for our centre-halves," said Rodgers
