Season loan. Good move if he can get games, which he should as Sunderland are lacking a left back currently. A full season of football will give him a chance to show he has a future at Spurs, or at least keep his value high.

Im really happy about this as they have Mclean on the left wing and I think he has the potential to be very good left back

Looks like Rose will get his debut against Liverpool.

I'll definitely be watching if that's the case.

What a great matchup, Sterling vs. Rose.

He's looked pretty good so far I'd say. I want to see him go from defense to attack, but in defense he's dispossessed a few times and he looks pretty in control for going against a guy like Sterling.

Sterling has only got the better of him once and that was a dive but in terms of attacking he will get better with time he seems to overthink it at times and I think thats down to him still learning how to be a LB as I have seen him when his confidence is high and he does bomb forward very effectively

Yeah I totally agree.

He just completely cut off Sterling on that last touch for Sterling before half. Looking long-term, him and Walker would probably form a fullback duo with the most pace in the PL. He looks very good in defense which is great to see, as I think that's probably going to be the biggest question mark for him.

Did well for the build up to the goal as well. Had a good match however he still has been a little sloppy when going forward.

A bit out of topic but Sessegnon seems to get better every time I see him. A bit like a more exciting and unpredictable version of Dembele was a couple of seasons ago. In the sense he simply doesn't score enough despite having a great strike on him. Petty unlike Dembele I think he doesn't have enough of a work ethnic to play slightly deeper.

Did get beat twice by sterling in the last 10mins of the game and was at fault for the goal conceded, had a good game but that one mistake cost sunderland unfortunately, apparently had a groin strain for that period of time

not sure he looks that good today - but the season is early and he's only been learning from MON for a short time,... sterling has had the better of him...

for the first half sterling was non existent and only in his last 10mins did he beat him and that was twice but if its true he has groin stain that may explain why

I was surprised how solid Rose looked. None of his dashing runs forward that I'm used to seeing in a Spurs shirt though.

Rose and Kane have both looked very promising and I'm confident on the basis of these performances that they'll get quite a few minutes under their belts in the premier league this season (more so than they would at Spurs).

However, they both made errors that cost their teams goals (Rose not defending cross, albeit being injured & Kane squandering a good chance) so I am glad they are on loan to get experience and learn not to make the same mistakes in a Spurs shirt!

Additionally, they both seem to have great managers to teach them as well, very nice for their development (y)

He tired, which isn't surprising, but I thought he did pretty well for his first game in the PL for his new team. Be interesting to see how he does and what we do with him in the end.

Agreed. I think he'll make a real go of it to be fair - he was pretty vocal about his lack of chances with us last year, perhaps this year he's been sent out in order to give Naughton a go in the first team squad as well.

If he applies some of his recent frustration to his game time i think Rose will push on this year.

I'm gaining a lot of respect for Danny Rose simply because of the toughness he's showing in this match...

He got a bloody nose, got called for a hand ball on him that never happened (He played the ball off his chest), and then he got a headbutt by Benayoun to his face as he was clearing a dangerous cross from Jarvis.

Really impressive considering all the shit that's going against him today that he's still playing some solid defense.

Danny Rose starting again. Really feeling great about this loan spell if the game experience continues for him.
