It'll be interesting to see what he would do in a more interchanging system like ours. He would have far more opportunity to do what he did tonight, the quick 1-2 play into the box. I'm starting to think that Rose really might be an option for us next season.

If Caulker can catch the eye/make a name for himself at Swansea with his performances, you've got to think Rose has done that and more at Sunderland.

Was disappointed with some of his passing today, he seemed to just punt the ball forward far too much. That's something he'll need to cut out of his game.

Agree was watching to see how he played and his passing was quite off. Ive seen him play better this season tbh so think that was an off game, but he did show his usual drive and put in some good tackles. And while I say his passing was generally bad his passing for the goal was brilliant.

Think he deserves a chance next year. If we're going to loan youngsters out to prove themselves, we cant then not give him an opportunity when he's being talked about by their fans as arguably their player of the season. What else can he do? Also wouldnt look good to other youngsters when they realise they've got ot basically be Jesus to get a chance

Watched the highlights and none of the goals were his fault. Michael Owen summed up the modern day FB on MOTD2, FB's will make mistakes as they are being asked to attack more and I'm all for this.

We should be more focused on attacking the opposition, we are a top four team f**k defending thats the twats down the roads history not ours. To that end is there a better attacking left FB in the league? Baines possibly, Evra meh, Clichy lol. I think Rose is up there, he's quick, strong and can play a bit, not forgetting he comes with a very attractive price tag :)

It is through not defending properly that we haven't already secured a top 3 position and aren't still in Europe.

Great work for the goal though, he made two passes and took the shot the third time

Nah, the biggest cause is the lack of threat up front, by some distance.
I really hate how people keep saying this. Look at the table. We've scored ONE LESS THAN CITY but conceded 13 MORE... Our attacking options (somehow) are okay, not incredible but okay, not as bad as we make out. It's something like 6 less than Chelsea and Arsenal which next season you'd expect Ade to get if we kept the exact same team. Again our defence is much worse than theirs.

And yet I wouldnt take anyone from Arsenal's Defence or even Chelsea's lol

I do agree that our defense has been lacking this season. Despite having a great season on the whole, Vertonghen has been at fault for multiple snafus that have directly led to goals. Obviously Walker has had some derptastic moments as well which have led to some clear-cut chances. I feel as though since his inclusion, Dawson's probably been the most consistent defensive starter for us. Obviously the gaping hole that is known as LB has been a huge issue. And it's interesting that Rose's strongest aspect to his game this season has been his defense, which was widely considered his biggest question mark considering his past experience and recognition in attack.

But, I think one of the biggest problems is our defensive midfielder position. What in the fucking Hell is Parker doing as advanced up the pitch as he has been over what seems like 2-3 months now. Jesus Christ, that man should not be consistently in attack, much less attempting to conduct our buildup play. I don't get it all. This isn't the Scott Parker of his West Ham days. Parker would be far more useful just sitting in front of defense, shielding our defense to break up anything through the middle and to pressure opponents into playing the early ball, will the ball back and get it to people who know what the hell to do with it quickly.

This has sidetracked considerably off the topic of Rose, but I do think having either Rose back, or a LB that is worthy of being a week-in-and-out starter for us would help our defense considerably, which I do agree has been very worrisome and porous.

Agree with everything we need to groom livermore to play a limited DM role which he can do and did well imo against liverpool, though this may get him alot of abuse because he doesnt do much else tbh. Otherwise we have to buy one and there arent too many that do role well and can be involved in the game whilst maintaining that cover and then what does that mean for Sandro? I would keep Parker for a season and send Livermore away on loan and see if he can do well in that role.

As Rose he imo will definitely get a chance, as so did Naughton who did very well at Leicester and had a successful loan at Norwich but he didnt match Rose's level of performance. Though you could make a argument he hasnt really had a chance in our first team with him being chopped and changed and being played out of position. IMO you shouldnt chop and change until your defence have got a chance to learn each other. It is worth noting that this season that only half of our defence had been here the season before and it is worth noting, one of them just came back from a big injury(Dawson), Walker got overplayed last season and the other two missed like half a season with injuries if anything its amazing we have done this well

Also, I heard the other day Surs are the only team in the league not to get a penalty so far this season (league matches). I've seen at least 3 for Arsenal!

Livermores problem is he is useless at tackling

and is attracted to the ball leaving spaces, has a very limited range of passing, doesn't have a shot on him, doesn't have great vision, hasn't got great tactical awareness.....
