I don’t think Danny seems to realise that every job comes with difficulties beyond doing the actual job. Every office has politics, dickheads you’re forced to work with, bullying, stress etc.

It’s not just do your job and pick up your money at the end of the month.

He increasingly sounds like he needs a change of scene. Spurs is clearly not a healthy environment for him anymore.

Unfortunately from our point of view I think we’ve missed the boat in terms of him being worth north of £30m.

Agree. I do think a change will do him good. I will hold absolutely nothing against him when he leaves. He's obviously just burnt out here. It's the same for any of us in a job, at a place where we're just no longer happy at. Things happen and you just end up resenting the place. Fortunately, we just leave our place of work with no fanfare. In the football business, hundreds of thousands of customers might hate you for it.

I do think the writing is on the wall. I hope he will receive a warm reception if he ever returns to the club. The depression issue will probably make that so.

Can anybody see any club that would be prepared to buy him as things stand though?

I think there would now be added complications to such a transfer for whoever may have been interested because teams want to be purchasing players who they know are in the right frame of mind to be playing for them, especially if they're to come a fair amount of money.

It may be a case of teams not wanting to risk such a transfer if our asking price is high (which I assume it would be). It's hard to know exactly how his comments and current state of mind is being perceived by onlooking teams.

Feel for Danny ragarding the depression because I can imagine having depression is horrible. And it seems he is still struggling. I do find it hard though when he talks about football isn't what it seems, the politics etc etc. I've played at a fairly high standard, and have a mate who was a pro and retired recently. It's the best flipping job in the world. I've said in another thread about the job I do now, but being assaulted fairly regularly, spat at, absused ,threatened, and earn in a month what Danny Rose earns in half a day, and then hear him or any other multi millionaire footballers moan because there's political issues within the club blah blah makes me so annoyed.

I hope he gets better, because on his game he's a fantastic left back. Absolutely you think he must have strength of character after all the loans and to then be a spurs 1st team regular takes mental strength. I want to him to come back strong and show Poch he's 1st choice left back. If he doesn't want to do this, and is still saying things which have an undercurrent of him alluding to possibly being mistreated at spurs (which is the impression I get), then in my opinion offer all the help to get him better that is available, but ultimately get rid of him.

the thought of giving him getting improved terms is just ridiculous considering everything that has happened in the last year.

This. Let’s not forget that his last purple patch of form for us was rewarded with a new contract, since which he hasn’t earned the right to a new one, either on for or behaviour.

I really do feel for him with regards to his physiological state, but that can’t be grounds for an improved contract.

Of course he doesn’t. From his comments he only thinks about himself and nobody else.

Yup. I think our time together has run it's course, and maybe that's no one's fault. He has some issues, that he's been very open about, which exacerbate this.

A real shame. If he stays and pulls it back, great, but I have my doubts. Right now though, as others have said, he's more likely to go to Everton for £30m than Utd for £50m

Rose surely starts today? Ashley Young has been horrific. How on Earth can a player with absolutely no left foot be playing ahead of Danny Rose at left back?

Well it's an actual 2 page article in the paper, with quotes and everything, so not really. He's one of the named 5 for a penalty shootout.

It's always a bit of a lottery on penalty shootouts, I just hope England have the game won before ET leave alone the penalty shootout, we don't have a great record in the latter!

If he had scored that goal yesterday instead of missing by inches his value would have gone up by 10 m ( or 20m in the world according to Daniel )
