Well I think he's gone on another level
Since then. If Man Utd and Man City are willing to pay him 150k a week, I get gaurentee you his agent is speaking to the club to up his 70k a week wages!

He signed a new deal in September, no way the club will negotiate another deal with him less than 4 months later.

Other players have also mentioned that Rose is a bit of a teacher's pet and loves being at the club and around Poch.

Good god, giving players a new contacts just because some tabloid has linked them to another team, you do realise that the club would be fucking bankrupt in no time. :D

I genuinely don't want players at the club who are prepared to hold us to ransom every 6 months.

If we were paying players less than the likes of Everton or Southampton or other mediocre clubs like Liverpool then fair enough, but not matching City and Chelsea's ridiculous wages doesn't mean we aren't paying market rate.
We don't pay as much as Liverpool. If you want to have the best players you have to pay them as the best. Should Harry Kane be on 50k less a week than Jamie Vardy? I don't see it as ransom, if you don't pay what a player worth they will look to move on

Not necessarily though.
I would imagine some players will look at the stability of the club they are linked with versus the stability of where they are.
Rose & Walker could go to United based on Jose being in charge and wanting them, then 3 months later find themselves under a new manager who wants foreign full-backs.
Bye bye first team football, bye bye international career....

Harry Kane was being paid 3x less than Raheem Sterling and signed a new contract in November, he's still here...hasn't moved on...still here.

Everything doesn't need to be so black and white in your would Millsey, players aren't going to leave somewhere if they are happy and they are playing in conditions which benefit them under a manager who has improved them, as long as the club reward them for their hard work that doesn't mean they should have parity with players at clubs who can afford to pay them that.

Agree with this. Firmly believe the majority of our squad (fringe players excepted) will stay if Poch stays.

Also think the profile of our squad helps. None of the players appear to have egos, no billy big bollocks, all seem to be down to earth family men, happy to be part of Poch's plans.

If a player really wants to be billy big bollocks and wants parity with other stars then he can leave, I think that's the attitude that Poch has instilled in this team, paid to train etc...That's why I think that his philosophy is very important for this club and why Levy was so keen to hire him.

And look at Jamie Vardy now, nowhere near to hitting the heights of lat season and now Leicester are stuck with a player who is past his peak and is on the decline paying him £5m p/y for the next 4 years until he's 33, brilliant business.

So they should have sold him to Arsenal then??

More true than ever. This Spurs squad has recently been a near guarantee for an England spot. Two years ago Walker was a fringe player for England and Rose had never gotten his call.

Rose can go to United, potentially fall behind Shaw for club and country and fight for a spot for 2 years until a new United manager buys another starlet.

And Walker still has naysayers, if he isn't a nailed on starter, Clyne will take that spot.

Rose and Walker are different. They've made a steady progression in all facets of the game. They're physically gifted as well as talented and are considered two top talents in their positions.

Vardy, at 29, had one fantastic season in a one-trick system that perfectly suited his skillset. The Arsenal transfer would have been terrible for Vardy and Arsenal.

Therefore, yes, Leicester should definitely have sold him..

Why do you love a straw man argument so much?

My point is look at the consequences when you pay players too much too early, if by your logic we pay a player a wage that we can't afford and he drops his levels what do you think will happen, we are stuck with him until we can either sell him or pay them off, do you not remember Adebayor?

If the rumors of Palace wanting Davies are true I would happily move him in if we get Shaw in as a backup. Shaw under MP was brilliant at Saints and I am sure would get the best out of him again....

As for him being a CFC fan, Defoe was a AFC fan but it never bothered him when he played for us.....!
