Why do you love a straw man argument so much?

My point is look at the consequences when you pay players too much too early, if by your logic we pay a player a wage that we can't afford and he drops his levels what do you think will happen, we are stuck with him until we can either sell him or pay them off, do you not remember Adebayor?
Your missing the point. I'm not calling for club to up everyone's wages. What I'm saying is if a club is offering one of our players double his wages, that normally means the club will have to offer something better than he's on. If we say no and Rose get is a sulk, then I'm sure all will be happy when he's sold

I get your point, just don't agree, you are indeed calling for the club's to up everyone's wages because what happens when other teams offers our players high wages, do you expect the club to give them a new contract? that's not the way to do business. Generally if a players gets in a strop about money and the club have done all they can to keep them happy then I'd rather they leave, it's not about keeping that one player happy, it's about keeping the harmony of the team happy and sticking to your core values so that your other players don't follow suit.

If the rumors of Palace wanting Davies are true I would happily move him in if we get Shaw in as a backup. Shaw under MP was brilliant at Saints and I am sure would get the best out of him again....

As for him being a CFC fan, Defoe was a AFC fan but it never bothered him when he played for us.....!

Shaw is rumoured to be on £150k a week. We don't pay our top earner that let alone a reserve full back!

And people are questioning if Rose asks for a pay rise

You know damn well no one is questioning whether anyone will ask for a payrise. It's whether they should get one is the issue. Your original comment was:

"all players want the money. We are going to have to up there wages again"

I was in the unfortunate position of listening to the debate on talksport regarding rose and Walker leaving us for city/utd, and can't believe people ringing in getting upset.
I think we will keep both and to cement that view it think we will bag a trophy which is what the club needs plus will hopefully keep 1/2 from being distracted.

TS just kept repeating "contracts mean nothing" and then waiting for the next upset fan to call in.

Not but that doesn't stop those presenters still talking shit they did the same as month or so ago with kane until his new deal got announced, I think we have put a few noses out of joint which is causing clubs and media to try and destabilise us.

There's more than money to consider here. Both players are very happy at Spurs with a Manager that has developed them and believed in them. They are getting all the plaudits now and both have had bed periods in their careers. They both spoke of staying at Spurs for a long time when they signed their contracts. They believe they can achieve their ambitions at Spurs.
DL hasn't sold a big player to a domestic competitor since Berbatov and won't do it now. No story here - move on.

It will be a lot more then 60 million if it ever happened and the chances are slim to none. Why would Levy derail our season and piss off his manager as well...idiotic talk. The days of Manure deciding they are going to buy the world are over.

Nah, no key players will be sold. Not unless clubs allow levy to have free reign over their ring.

It's mad really, we should be the media darlings when you think about it, not only are we competing with these other teams at a pretty substantial financial disadvantage (we are closer to the rest of the league than Utd/City/Chelsea) and for a prolonged spell, we are also doing so using young(ish) English talent.

But yet all the media seems to want to do is drag us back down to where we were 10 years ago, a simpler time where every team knew their place, and more column inches/airtime could be devoted to the clubs with the biggest fan bases...

In terms of the news story, I've never been so confident the players will stay, that my friends is progress.

Rose and Walker (and to a lesser extent Trippier) are so vital to the way we play, when they are missing we suffer for it.

I like to believe that Levy is past selling key players to competing domestic clubs, regardless of hefty fees. Not sure if Walker and/or Rose would would be particularly tempted by the salary raises either. Both seem comfortable and happy with the club, and the idea of upsetting a good thing going might not seem ideal. Not sure, really not.

they just help to dictate how much the player leaves for. But worth remembering that there was interest in Rose before he signed a new deal for Spurs. In the 2 months since, he and Spurs have been getting better and better, so if they do mean nothing to him then he wouldn't have signed it and nothing has happened in the last two months to indicate he'd like to leave.

I'm sure we all know this though. Without irate callers, TS has very little content.
