He can fuck off as far as I'm concerned....wages!!!! the little prick. 60k is it? every week? Before you start comparing it to others salaries just say it to yourself. £60k a week..
I know what you mean, but... if someone doing the same job as you and was worse than you, earned more, would you keep quiet about it? I don't mean going to the press or whatever, but no matter how much one earns doing one's respective jobs, everyone within that respective industry will want parity where possible.

You can be upset with the amount of money offered to footballers, that's fine. but I actually cannot begrudge players, expecially good ones, wanting to earn what their peers do, because in my job, I would want the same.

Going to the press about it though was underhanded and he deserves stick for that.

You don't cross Poch and live to tell the tale at Spurs. Imo his days were numbered from the second that interview was published. If he doesn't go this window, I'd be very surprised if the next summer window ends and he is still here.
Personally I believe his going to the press was concocted to soften the blow when he does actually leave.

Things is, though, is that he's pretty well paid for a LB. sure, he could earn more at City, UTD but there's not many clubs that would double his money. He's well paid. Even if the wage point was fair (and tbf, I'm not saying he's got no point whatsoever in this regard) he didn't just run his mouth off about wages it was our whole transfer policy which then, inevitably, led to comments about our squad not being good enough and now the infamous google comment too.

So it's not just the fact he went to the paper and said some shit 2 days before our league opener, some of the stuff he said was harsh and he still hasn't actually apologised for what he said, just the manner.

I'd still keep him this year, though. We can't afford to lose him and Walker to rivals in 1 window. It being WC year should mean he'll be pretty well motivated. He knows he's going to have to get back to playing like he was before the injury pretty quickly if he's going to be number 1 come the summer. He'll be gone in the summer, though, I would've thought so hopefully he has a great season for us, plays for England and does well in the WC, increases his market value and we sell for a big fee (ideally not a rival but given his "up north" comments I'd imagine he, and us, will be looking towards Manchester)

Pretty ruthless with disposing of Kaboul, Njie, Adebayor, Stambouli and Capoue..

He obviously doesn't like the French as well!

Fair and friendly comment bud. There's a flaw in that tho, for somebody in the real world who earns lets say £1000p/w going up to £2000 is a massive life change, so of course yes in that respect you're right. When we're talking about going from £60k to say £90k it represents nothing they cant already acquire, an extra 2 foot on their yacht maybe....It's greed, nothing more, and he's willing to disrupt My/Our club to get it at the start of a season. He can go, with a size 9 poch boot up his arse as far as I'm concerned.
I'm angry at him cause he's hurting us....willingly

Agreed, there are better full backs than Rose that are paid sub £100k a week. Marcelo, Alaba, Alba, all on less. Lahm and Alves are over that amount due to one being a legend and the other being a quality free transfer. Utd and City are taking the piss with their wages, but if Utd are in for Rose and offering it to him then it is sadly more relevant than what the rest of Europe's best earn.

True, if there's an actual offer there then it changes everything and whether it's an inflated fee or not is irrelevant.

Should have just said I've had enquiries from other clubs and I can get paid a lot more if I move. He'd still be a massive twat for going to the press a couple of days before our opening league game but the actual content wouldn't be so bad. All the other shit about google and even Wembley and Barkley was just so unnecessary.

Playing for Tottenham Hotspur is priceless. £60k a week is merely a bonus.

If you don't like it piss off you picky-haired midget.

Rose made a mistake. He shouldn't have made as much of his frustrations public in the manner or at said time. I take umbridge though with people who treat all players like they owe any club or its fans more than is reasonable. They are entertainers, they earn well and yes we pay for that, in part. However unlike us, the majority are not "fans" of the clubs they play for and even so, should not in my humble opinion be "underpaid" or "mistreated" or whatever they feel JUST because they play for a team we love often more than anything else.

Applying our diehard love for a club to players is asking for dissapointment and is (certainly more so in the modern era), just wrong.

Even say Harry Kane, if he was offered 300k a week to go elsewhere, should we begrudge him, because F*** him, how dare he be unhappy when he plays for the mighty Spurs?

I applaud your loyalty sir, we love our club and lo he who besmirches said club. But I in no way expect anywhere near that level of loyalty from players. Not anymore. You will get a few and you love them even more so, but in this instance, I dislike only DR's timing and manner and not necessarily the content, an opinion he is entitled to have, even if we mere mortals struggle with the money aspect.

Just my tuppence and no hard feelings intended.

I'd still take the Martial swap all day. Get Aurier in to add pace on the right, pace on the left can be covered by Martial and Son in a back 4 system, or Sessegnon LWB (better suited there than pure LB) in a back 3 system.

With him potentially falling out of favour with Poch, and having been out with a knee injury for 9 months (with no idea if there's any permanent issues), we are lucky he's still valued so highly this window.

Was totally against selling him this window as A) He's quality and B) it sends a message on how to leave the club. If we can get a worldy in Martial in exchange that at least lessens part B to an extent.

Our transfers then would look something like

In

Sessegnon
Aurier
Sancho
That Keeper
Barkley
Foyth
Martial
Sanchez

Out

Rose
Sissoko
Wimmer
Walker

I'd take that for sure, would suck losing both top full backs but would leave us with a great squad. Add Janssen out (possible if Martial came in) and we would probably be close to break even.

Balde instead of Martial and Rose staying (Martial straight cash can't be doable) would be even better though.

Wouldn't our sales of Bentaleb, Fazio etc also count towards our net spend this summer?

The generally accepted suggestion is around £80m incoming for Walker and those players, with maybe up to a further £10m from sell on fees. Wimmer would add another £15-20m, but Sissoko seems loan or no deal. I think all those incomings might go a bit over that.

There was also mention that Janssen would want to be moved if we brought in another backup to Kane, and that there were suitors lined up and we'd at least make our money back on him if not more.

If one Danny Rose = one Ryan Sessegnon plus one Serge Aurier, I can very much see that happening.

Are you kidding? £30k more a week is around 1.56 million more a year, or £7.8m for a 5 year contract. You don't think that is a massive life change when he'll probably take a significant drop after that?

No I don't. What can one have that the other can't? They just enhance their lifestyle they don't jump into the Forbes list or move into super rich bracket on a 30k a week raise.
